Ozzy Osbourne is back at it again, releasing new music for the first time in nearly 2 years! Can he still do it? Let’s have a look at this new song Patient Number 9 to see. It features legendary guitarist Jeff Beck on it, which can only be a good thing. Let me know what you think of it in the comments!

I’m always amazed by how quickly you can analyse and reproduce the songs on an acoustic guitar. Even more impressive is the fact that your “unplugged” versions are usually better than the one that you’re analysing (as in this case). Jeez - you are so underrated.

38 years ago I saw Ozzy Osbourne on his Bark At The Moon tour. Ozzy's voice was great and it was an amazing show. As a bonus, Motley Crue opened while on their Shout At The Devil tour. I don't think I can top shows like that anymore.

I saw him in winter of 1992, with Alice In Chains and Sepultura. Sepultura opened with about 30 minutes, that was just so good. Then, Alice In Chains, played about 45 min, with Layne in a Wheelchair for part of it. Dirt had been out for a couple months at that point, but hadn’t blown up yet. They did a killer set. Then Ozzy did an excellent show, with No More Tears songs, and hits from each album. It was perfect fuel, for a 15 year old musician. Alice was one of my favorite bands, so I was only bummed they didn’t play longer.

@@CorbCorbin I saw that tour but Sepultara was not part of the line up in North Carolina. I did make an effort to see Sepultura the next year when they were opening for Pantera but the drummer broke his arm. Anyway, AIC absolutely killed it. Ozzy was great too, and they sounded good but there was something about the AIC energy. A little trivia from the 1992 tour as Mike Starr was the bass player for AIC and Mike Inez was the bass player for Ozzy on that tour. The following year Starr would leave AIC and be replaced by Inez. Did not know I was getting to see AIC and both there bass players that night. It is kinda funny the tour was called the "No More Tours Tour," as Ozzy was touring the No More Tears album and retiring.

As a Metal guitarist, Black Sabbath is tattoed on my soul like Bach. They will always be my favourite band. I love the tone on Master Of Reality! Just pure Metal, devoid of any unwanted bells and whistles..... I'm looking at you Technical Ecstasy! Great songs on that album, but I want to smash that keyboard into a million pieces! It has no business being on that album, and it's also way too loud, drowning out Iommi's drone, and Bill and Geezer too, probably the greatest rhythm section in a Metal band! I digress, Ozzy is an amazing singer. Check out The Angelic Sessions, especially the last track: Changes. Ozzy looks pretty ravaged by life, but he sung so beautifully, at his age, I got a bit choked up. Love ya Ozzy!!!!!🖤🤘

Not sure I agree that Ozzy’s use of mordents, or otherwise bending and messing about with notes is a new thing. He’s pretty much always done it and I would say it’s probably one of the main features of his vocal style. Even if you go to the very first song on the first Sabbath album, he’s bending the notes. “What is this that stands befORE\ me, figure in black which points at mE/EE\”

I see on some Ozzy albums it says "all songs written by Ozzy Osbourne". How does that work? -Do they just pay a lump sum to Jake E. Lee or Bob Daisley? I didn't know Ozzy could shred on guitar. Seems like a real rip off for the musicians who came up with those riffs and parts of the songs.

At one point in the solo, Jeff Beck, friggin 78 years old gets all Tom Morello. The influence is probably the other way around, but when you play a solo part in an Ozzy song that could also be in RATM and it works, that's brilliant.

Yeah, it's an easy camp fire, pop riff, but it has a modern twist on an iconic voice, from a man coming to grips with mortality. The out of left field solo from Jeff Beck was extremely fitting compared to a standard Zack Wylde solo. I say that with respect. Zack is still a beast, but I think this was a good fit for where Ozzy is right now.

I loved Ozzy circa 1983-6 The Bark at the Moon/ Ultimate SIn era with Jake was him at his performance peak in my opinion both on record and live-wise, before his voice deteriorated. Now, this may be heresy to some, I know, but I never really liked his Sabbath year , but I always felt the Talk of The Devil versions of those songs sound fantastic (SIde 1 is amazing, just how heavy does Symptom of the Universe sound?) Kind of lost me when Zakk and the multiple pinch harmonics and then that reality show entered the equation. Much respect to him still having a go here, but his voice sounds heavily 'Melodyned' in parts and he seems to be going through a series of Ozzy vocal tropes rather than actually singing. Shame. I do wonder if he should have called it a day over 10 years ago, but then I guess it's what he loves to do, and can you imagine having to stay at home and listen to Sharon day in day out as she orders another gold plated toilet whilst numerous rat-dogs crap on the carpet? Great stuff as always Justin - love this channel.

I saw you guys in South Africa... due to my girlfriend's Lady Gaga infatuation. obviously i was automatically so "amped". You guys are the best rock band i've seen live, besides myself in the mirror. I have and always will be a fan. Somewhat similar to Silverchair, later in your songwriting years. I love that people get to see your talent .... bring up the steel panther situation!!

I saw Ozzfest 19 or 20 years ago. Got to watch Rob Zombie play to prerecorded track, note for note rendition of album before they propped Ozzy up on stage for another show. I doubt he is more coherent today.

Love the guitar riffs in this song together with Ozzy's singing. Very catchy. And I always enjoy listening to your acoustic interpretations very much as well. 🙂 Question: What is your answer when someone asks you: When/Are you ever going to/can you tune your guitar? Actually, I would like to see you doing it. Just the process of it, done by you.

I love Ozzy, he's my favourite front man, and Black Sabbath are my favourite band. But i love Ozzys solo albums to, and yes he needs abit of help with his vocals, but he's never been an astonishing vocalists, but his sound certainly suited Black Sabbaths early record's. Now Questions (yaaay) 1. Do you have a fitness set you do daily,? Do you have (that you know) alot of famous musicians who follow you? And if you could, what band would you love to play with?. Love your content, real down to earth honest reviews, with a good plashing of Darkness humur lol. 🤘💪🫂

Aww, what a fabulous reaction review Justin! Really loved that 😁💜 I've been a fan of Ozzy's since The Blizzard of Oz days. Like yours, his music videos never disappoint either. I love this track too, it should be made into a movie! I think he should continue making music for as long as he can, although I did notice he seems to have had a little 'help' with his vocals. It really doesn't matter though, it's still essentially Ozzy 🤘😈💀🦇 Thank you Justin! 💜

Beck is almost too subtle for Ozzy's music. His appearance here doesn't particularly light up the song, nor is it representative of his unparalleled genius. It all sounds good though, which I suppose is more than enough from these two geezers who've already given us so much over the last five decades!

Love this tune, clearly Ozzy has been listening to Liam Gallagher, who listened to John Lennon so in a roundabout way Ozzy's been influenced by John Lennon haha! don't like the Jeff Beck solo much but the drums sound killer.

Are you being ironic? Ozzy loves Lennon. He probably doesn’t know who Liam is.
