The preparation sounds exhausting and depressing. To not feel the excitement and electricity of a sporting event (or anything) is sad. He just has no idea what he’s missing, but then again, he doesn’t care.

I think everyone wants to ‘fit in’, albeit for differing reasons, but, not to fit in with everyone. We choose who to fit in with, and, others, we couldn’t care less about. And sometimes, we just make do with what’s available at the time. I suppose, at the end of the day, we just make do.

Very good self analysis. When it comes to matches - for me it's an artificially evoked emotion, nothing important in life - for some it's fun, for others it's business, for others it's a matter of honor, life and death. But I can feel the emotions coming from the crowd. I get infected with them as a participant (and strongly) - although in the end I always think it's stupid :) I apologize to all die-hard fans - the most important thing is that they have passion, whatever, what "holds" them and unites them.

A shark has a predatory mind. The shark never thinks, “Gee, I wonder what it’s like to be a golden retriever…” The shark only knows what it is. They don’t compare or feel as if they got dealt a crap hand by living their life in a cold and dark place like the ocean. It’s where they’re comfortable. It’s all they know and it’s where they are most efficient and able to excel at being the apex predator that they are. The altruistic nature of an empath and the tightfisted constitution of a narcissist are comparatively separated by the same gulf as the mind of the shark and the dog. HG has made mention many times of how he’s quite content being the shark. Emotions serve no agency to what it is that he’s programmed to do - consume and control.

Yeah, it’s an emotional half-blindness & a mental paradox. The need for control is the antithesis of real control for the simple fact that an inability to surrender control or do without precisely means that the narcissist has no REAL control, and is merely stuck to the illusion of it. A survival mechanism on full auto-pilot. Really proficient at that part, surviving, but as for truly living? Not so much unfortunately.
