Dear sister, I was a Christian before, and I converted to Islam about 50 years ago. Until now, I have not regretted the decision I made in converting to Islam. Rather, I think it was the best decision I made in my life. Because I was like a dead person, so God revived me with Islam. I was living in darkness, but God brought me into the light. Today I am clearly following my path to be in heaven after my death, God willing. Therefore, I advise you not to hesitate in converting to Islam because it is the best decision you will make in your life.

I was simply smiling and even laughing as I heard you saying that and that is called AQIDA in Islam which means Fathe, You can read books about it and one of the best who wrote about AQIDA is ibn taymiyyah. However, even though he wrote many books about this subject, he says always "but if you want to feel AQIDA, read the Quran". Quran is simply Allah talking to you. If you want to talk to Him, go and pray because during prostration you are the closest to the ALMIGHTY.

We have to take all the ways and the reasons to a achieve a goal. Then we put our full trust in Allah to decide for us what is best for us. Then we should be satisfied with what Allah destined for us even if it is against our wil. Because it is He only who knows what is best for us. Achieving a balance in life is not always the easiest thing to do. Try to strike a balance between pushing yourself and over-doing it. Push yourself to fight your nafs (desires) and to perform good deeds. However, do not over-achieve and do not take an "all-or-nothing" approach.
