Great improvisation and tribute to the late composer. And the lyrics fit the rite of Communion--yes the world needs love, and this rite can be such a beautiful expression of that yearning. Bravo, Christoph Bull!

Usually for preludes, I occasionally play tributes like this upon the passing of great performers, musicians and song writers regardless of the genre. My congregation very much appreciates it.

Thank you for sharing your experiences, Bob. I also often do these kind of tributes during Preludes (or Prelude Concerts as we call them since at FCCLA they last for half an hour :) This time, my Prelude Concert was already fully planned and worked as it was, so we decided to do it during Communion. I felt that the theme of LOVE and this particular expression of it a la Bacharach-David worked well for this part of the service.

Thanks for your comment. Much appreciated. The song was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. It was first released by singer Jackie De Shannon on April 15, 1965. This is my impromptu organ arrangement in response to Burt Bacharach's passing. Thanks for asking.
