Much faster, more intense and MUCH LESS TECHNICAL. what matters is how much you can run and press. flair and technique in no longer needed. Football is so robotic now.

Balde was never a liability defensively His issues were strictly offensive because he was the only one occupying the left wing with no support. With a proper LW like Nico, he will be better

I can tell you didn’t watch balde. Defensively he is an absolute beast the only criticism was his skills attacking because he can’t dribble 1on1 and his final pass was off. Who was the last winger to expose balde?

I've never seen a winger beat balde 1v1 since his debut. His weakness is crossing aside that he does everything perfectly

@@psychoced437 what I am saying is no balde can not take players on 1on1 this is a weakness of his. Unless he is in transition and breaking lines obviously, but stood up 1on1 with a defender he is not good at that and xavi put balde in this role early last season before the injury. Nothing wrong with that though he isn’t a winger

The problem with barca is they have no one that can beat their man 1v1 consistently or take on 2 or 3 and create like the way neymar iniesta messi did or vini does. Drawing attention opens space up and barca doesn't have any of that making the attack VERY predictable since everything is by the books rather than flair. Their other issue is explosive pace when the above + this is combined you get vini. He does damage. There's only balde and raphinha who are quick but not rapid whilst yamal is still figuring out his game.

Always thought this. And Xavi was playing Gavi on the left when fit, and looking to sign more slow motion Spanish players that had no pace.

@Fabfutx on his day, sancho. Isn't the quickest but the man can ball. Recent example was what he did to psgs whole left side. I think UTD wants him gone for £35 . Frimpong is another that can play anywhere on the right. Basically do what davies did for flicks bayern with Explosive pace either end of the pitch in recoveries or overlap. Unfortunately they can't afford much and crazy how players like Tello would walk into that left side. I'd say Williams on the left since he's young and direct and can improve but you can't really teach that close control that vini/ney or others has. Similarly u can't teach killer instinct you either have it or u don't then you sharpen it

@rwac07 xavi and iniesta made up for pace by simply beating their men with body feints control smart n movements. Like they'd somebody wiggle out of a 3 man press or get out when all angles are blocked. No one knows how to do that in the squad currently and I'm genuinely suprised xavi never told Pedri or gavi how to do it. But when you look at modric you clearly saw his influence in the team by everyone doing the 'modric pass'

Great football is a lot of expectation. Barca are struggling financially and they are in no position to compete with the world's most dominant club lead by the genuis of Perez; The Bartomeu effect will last long and I would be shocked if they win anything next season, unless Atletico lends them a helping hand in the spanish cup.
