I am an auto mechanic in Huntsville Alabama USA. I have met many young Indian students getting their college education here. I fix their cheap cars, just to last them through school & we've become friends.. The Indian's are among the brightest, most clever & industrious i have ever met. They make ways to overcome obstacles that i could never think of. I'm retiring from cars now but these Indian students have been a delight.

The story of the young gold digger who broke away from his tyranic boss & landlord to become his own boss, formed his own clan & found a roof over their head deserves a movie. He is so smart & knew he could do better than his boss, treat his own worker better for much better return on investment, find a better buyer, hire a taxi to get there quick. I bet he will rise to the top some day. However, the people surviving on the beach selling alcohol, I feel sorry for them because a solid roof over your head is the first step in the human hierarchy of need without a roof, there's no safety ^ you can't function properly plus selling alcohol which only brings more human misery, is a bad combination.

In interviews with moribunds, the number one regret in life turned out: having work too much and hard. 2. Seminal founders of religions and philosophies like Buddha, Jesus, Schopenhauer, Marx inherited or were helped , which enabled them to achieve their goals. 3. It is extremely improbable that one's work is as gratifying as any other interest or hobby of choice. 4. There are not enough job positions globally. South Korea produces alone 1/3 of screens and mobile phones. So better to leave the work to others who need it. 5. Working means today mostly sitting, which is not healthy. I do the contrary: live about like a hunter-gatherer. Move up to 5 hours daily (cycling, hiking, swimming, skiing). Get hungry, thirsty, exhausted, exposed to sunlight. So no steady pampering. P. S. What is the later fare of Suvita, will she remain beautiful and happy?

I never understood the world who always downgrade India as showing dirty and filthy by visiting slums rather appreciating for its progress and showing good clean area. My recent trip to Chicago, i was fortunate enough to meet an European man who is working in US. He visited Gurgaon and Bangalore and by knowing me as Indian told me that these western people though tell lot of bad things about India but i have seen rising India which almost 99% of the world are not aware of due to such documentary. Infact he told me that he was surprised to see Gurgaon when he visited in 2022 and praised a lot about Indian IT field rising.

You should see the ones who literally go down into the sewers to pan for gold!!! The gold workers inevitably inhale some of the gold dust too so it comes out in their poop…. That combined, with just the stuff that makes it’s way down there from the streets above (like where these guys are panning). I saw that documentary a few years ago and I was absolutely HORRIFIED!!! So, after wading and diving down (head and all!) into a shitty sewer, mercury would be the least of their worries! But yes, it is indeed, extremely dangerous.

The peoples shown in this documentary are all heroes. They have an exemplary fighting spirit and have the mental power to keep a smile amidst so many excruciating difficult circumstances. I pray that they succeed in lifting themselves out of poverty. Shame on the Indian elites who either ignore or exploit them. Shame on the so called biggest democracy in the world who can't even give the basic necessities to its own people.

As an Indian migrant through marriage I have always fallen foul of anyone who praises India. Modi and his BJP Hindu ideology which is spreading to the UK and other parts of the Western countries must address the root cause of poverty being the Cursed Caste System. 'Wealth' means: basic necessities for everyone and more is guaranteed, even during times of crisis and old age and loss of other family members. Including family homes with own garden, the swimming pool should better be provided by the village/community. In principle, general wealth is not possible without industrialisation. In today's world, an average income of 10'000 $ p.a. is needed for basic wealth (Thailand) and 50'000 $ for full wealth (Sweden). There is no guarantee of reaching them.

Kolkata is one of the poorest parts of India like Varanasi yet they dont represent that huge country which is very very different on an average!!!!
