What looks like a typical Japanese sedan took me by surprise with its CVT transmission. It's a total gamechanger.

As far as I know the sport button only does 2 things. It changes the transmission and steering. The steering will have a little more drag requiring slightly more force to turn the steering wheel. For the transmission, if you stomp on the gas and then let off the RPM will stay where it was when you let off the gas for about 2 seconds so you can have maximum power with no delay if you get back in the gas. The sport button does not increase the power the engine develops as far as I can tell.

The Maximas CVT is built to handle the hp the engine puts out. It’s a larger CVT than what you would find in an Altima, or a Sentra. The last gen pathfinder could tow up to 6,000 lbs with a CVT and car & driver named it one of the best for towing in its class lol. Y’all hear one thing about a few generations of 4cyl CVT Nissans and you think you know it all. I’ve had my 17 Maxima since new. It now has 74k on it and I’ve literally had no issues. And I’m not someone who drives the car nicely.

Just want to let you know you forgot to turn off the Traction Control. Makes a HUGE difference! Especially in the acceleration.

Yo guy this not SR SO TAKE THAT OFF. Exhaust pipes have Liquid Chrome finishers. One thing you can't get with the SR is the panoramic moonroof available on other Maximas. ... All Maximas get this 300-horsepower V6 engine. It's the familiar VQ 3.5-liter, which Nissan says has 60% new parts

I noticed the diamond cut wood grain, quilted leather seats and the perforated leather inserts in the steering wheel which here in the U.S. are all reserved for the platinum trim. But then saw the paddle shifters and wheels which are SR model features but you answered my question. One change Nissan made is that the SR trim comes with a Pano sunroof for 2K19 and newer.
