Pile 1: Hierophant and the Devil is an enlightening combination. He’s from a Catholic family. Although he’s not religiously observant, divorce is out of the question despite a miserable marriage for many years. It’s also materially convenient with 3 kids to put through college. I’ve given up. Pile 2: I am still beside him and helping him heal so that he doesn't go on to hurt more people like he has hurt me. He has hurt me real bad due to his selfishness and I wouldnt want another person to go through what I went through. Pile 2 It’s not a good situation. I have been an overgiver and I didn’t see why or how it was happening. I had a strong desire to be loved and I was giving in the hope that the love o was looking for would be returned. I was afraid of being alone and not concious of it. My behavior was pretty automatic. Pile 2. Yes, thats exactly the story. I don't think it's a bad thing though that he loves me because I give him what he wants. And I'v always done that with them, because I wanted to. This is unconditional love for me, which is the very first time for me, at least to this degree. 3.4 years of that now. I'm still waiting for them to step up now though. But the feeling or thought of letting them down at any point in time feels so wrong.... I kind of *wanted to spoil them because I felt they needed healing. Plus I love them enough to do that. As far as we are aware this is a twin flame thing. And I know they're aware of that too, they have expressed that in the past. I'm at the point now though that I'm having to withdraw, only to give them that push to take action. But give without burning yourself, within the limits that prevent compassion fatigue. If you are helping a broken person (romantically involved or not), help like nursing a bird with a broken wing, take care of it and let the bird decide to stay or leave when it is healed. If you are hoping it to stay (you are not purely helping, you are investing with expectation of an outcome) you will be emotionally burned if it didn't stay. Also, avoid altering your life for that broken bird. The more you alter your life for the person, the more you will be attached. Imagine quitting your job to nurse the bird 24-7 and then when the bird is healed and flew away, grief will burn a hole in your heart. Unconditionally love comes with just loving without much expectation of return, while being able to maintain some degree of detachment in attachment, just like parents loving their children and doing everything for their children with the awareness tht children will fly away when they are adults, or daughter will become another's family when married (most asian culture). Unconditional love (whether it is lover, friend or relatives) is not loving someone with the hope that they will always stay beside you but loving with the trust that you can be okay (pinched and not burnt) if they choose to leave your side.
