what thought did i believe in as a child? for starters, there's so much that i can't remember but here's some: -i thought that the olden days were in black and white -goitre was caused by shouting too much additional one: -that when in got dark in the day, i thought that the sun just disappeared when it was actually just clouds covering it. when the cloud moved and you can see the light gradually coming back, i used to run inside the house. i miss the innocence of childhood. there's more, just can't remember :p edit: just remembered that why i don't remember much dumb stuff was because the were corrected. like a children's jingle "nasty, nasty antibioty" (used when something is gross, duh) that was said by me a lot was corrected by my mother. she said that antibiotics are helpful in disease and are useful. so i stop thinking that they were nasty. also i never believed in santa claus, tooth fairy of any of that stuff for some reason. i knew they were fake. ok that's it

They did argue because the front person was taking too long (at least that's what I could tell from body language and lip reading) so up until around 5th grade I thought queue meant argue until my teacher said that was false.

when i was a kid, i thought i have to eat everything (solid foods) with rice. since that was how me and my friend used to thought growing up, like; steak with rice, veggies with rice, ripe mangoes? with rice tbh, rice with ripe mangoes are actually yummy

My dad once told his friend how he graduated in class of 86 and I still remember as a 7 yr old kid asking what year it was. If it was 1986 or 1886 lmao. I believed that the years were so close together.

When I was a kid my little sister and I played barbies all the time and when we made them get a job we would make them be walking down the street and see a place that's hiring and they walk in and say to the employees that they wanna work there and give the ppl their resume. The employees would say when they'll get a call, and then they go home and wait for the call.... And when they got the call they were told if they got an interview or not. If they got the interview, they'd go and at the end of the interview the manager would say if they got the job or not. And if they got it they start working the next day... Wtf I just wrote a whole entire BOOK

My sister told me the piece of popcorn I found on the ground was covered in millions of tiny ants that spread all over its surface as soon as it touched the ground. It took me a long time to eat food off the ground after that.

I had a very similar to the fired one. So I live in Norway, and when someone gets prosecuted for a crime, we say they're "siktet", which literally means "aimed at". What object do you usually aim at someone with? A gun. I literally though criminals who were "siktet" got the death penalty and were executed by a bullet to the back of the head. It wasn't until 2018, when I was 15, when I found out the death penalty doesn't exist in Norway. Imagine my friends' reactions when I blurted out "Wait so Breivik is still alive?", they must've thought I was ret*rded or something. For 6 years I was convinced Breivik, the terrorist behind the Utøya massacre on 22 July 2011, got executed sometime in early 2012, when I saw news headlines stating he was "siktet".

As a kid. I walked past a machine shop every day. Looking in the windows, I saw punch press operators, handcuffed to the machines. I assumed that they had to be prisoners. I grew up feeling sad and even afraid of these men. Turns out, it was a safety device, to keep hands well clear, when the punch came down. Now, being a machinist myself, there's nothing like that. There's a system of lasers and mirrors, that will stop the machine instantly, if the laser beam is broken. Frankly, the handcuffs were better. The lasers are too high maintenance, the mirrors have to be kept spotless, and a fly buzzing by is enough to break the beam Just cuff me, and spare me extra work and delay.

Off topic but... does anyone have a crush on someone, but when they're not around, you feel like you start to not like them anymore (not hate them, just not like them in a romantic way), but when you see them again, you start falling in love again.

I thought that when my parents watched the news that it was not real. I thought it was cartoons. I was wrong. No wonder why my parents kept on getting desperate to watch the news. When I was three I thought you needed to choose a baby from the hospital and take it because there were a lot of babies there. But when I grew older I thought that you needed to get married and then had to pray to get a baby. When I grew even older I thought you could get pregnant by kissing. But now I realised how stupid I was but I was young and wasn't supposed to know this stuff.

Things I thought as a kid: -That all the teachers lived at school -That adults were born as adults and children were born as children -That once I turned 18, my parents would give me like an entire lesson on how to live on my own and I would ask a world of questions all in one lesson. Like I just thought that was how it worked. -That when I grew up my hair color would be extremely different from when I was a kid. I don't know why, but I, with naturally straight blond hair, thought as a kid that when I grew up I would have black curly hair. Obviously I know now that's not going to happen lol. My hair is still straight and blond, just longer than it was before 😂
@japanpanda21794 жыл бұрын
That last part actually happened to me. When I was 5 my hair was as blond as it could get. And now, at 17, it's almost black.
