@@ronin43032k doesn’t have an exclusivity clause. They just make a game that EA couldn’t compete with. What even got EA to offer to pay for exclusivity is the NFL 2K5 was rated better than madden, then caught up in sales bc they cut it to $20 for one year. NFL got mad and said it devalued the brand having a $20 game and then EA offered a bunch of money. The money EA spends on exclusivity allows them to cut corners when it comes to gameplay, features, graphics, etc. I haven’t bought a madden game in years, and won’t until the NFL stops the exclusivity agreement.

I'm 42 years old. My favorite part of old Madden was creating your own player and you get your ratings from how well you do in training camp, which basically has different skills competition. Every off season you can try to improve based on these mini games. I really miss that stuff

A lot more than just that. The gameplay needs to be physics based instead of animation based. Their has to be animations but theirs to many animations in madden. Height and weight should matter also. The AI need to actually respond better. Like what’s the point of play recognition on players if they can’t recognize plays and the awareness needs to be better also. Get away from players getting sucked into animations also. Defensive AI needs a complete rework especially for zone coverage. Dline AI doesn’t pressure right at times and the Oline misses key blocks that make plays work especially when pulling on run plays. Also MUT is literally gambling and a lot of kids play it also so it becomes child gambling also.

I will say that the tackling took a step in the right direction in M24. I still sometimes get those jerky types of tackels, but overall, it's a lot smoother than it has been the few years before. EA ran into some legal issues from those old players and college players, cause they'd be all "The 1990 49ers? With an ace QB? You can make them look or name them whatever you want but everyone knows that's supposed to be Joe Montana back there" and thus even changing the names and such, they still got hit with likeness suits, so for the historic teams they'd have to get the rights to every player, important or not on the teams.... while instead they only get the rights to the Good Players and toss them into MUT instead, lol. NBA 2K has done some good stuff with their legacy stuff too, though. Got most of the deeper cuts in for their historic stuff, they did do the extra work. But, shame that game's so greedy in every mode possible it makes Madden look like a bargain.

Add of the more nuanced, PFF-esque stats. Pressures/pressure rates, hurries, etc. Actually track PBU, drops, pancakes. Lean into AI more, and factor team and player overall more into playbooks for sim leagues. Fix the DE/OLB issue. Ya know, its really funny that NHL 24, the other game by EA, does have historic teams. Its got the all time greats from all the teams. This is something AI can actually be used for creativity pay to use the voice of these broadcasters and make a ai voice bot that reacts to the plays as they happen so if you have a custom player they can say your name and talk about the game dynamically and react to explosive plays and maybe even comment on perfomances from previous games like they bring up something your offense did in week 3 when talking about your performance in week 6.

1. Historic Teams (players, stadiums, jerseys) 2. In addition to MUT, Franchise, etc. have a mode like NFL street. 3. Move fully to the subscription model. Just update the rosters and player every season. Instead of fully releasing a new game every year, just update the graphics and physics gradually over time.

historic teams used to be madden too back in madden 2005 it was just another feature they removed

With AI now, in game commentary could go insane. You can probably even make a player w a difficult name to pronounce and it would work!

I play madden specifically for face of the franchise. I’d love to see them take a MyCareer approach to it. That’s literally all I’ve ever asked for in a madden game.
