as a p1ece who has a pet tarantula (dad got her on a whim and neglected to care for her so i stepped up despite having arachnophobia) and who likes to go out alone. First, spiders are more afraid of you than you are of them (snakes too!) how you interact with them influences how they react to you, i may have never held my tarantula but i open her enclosure to feed her crickets enough times to were i can place her food in there with my hand, close it, and watch her slowly step out of her dirt burrow and eat at her own pace. She will literally not walk out unless her enclosure is sealed. Her legs may freak me out but she is gentle (and really clumsy if i am being real). So i liked Keeho being open minded about spiders as pets. Second, it is okay to enjoy time to yourself doing what you want to do, I've been to movies, book stores, cafes, museums, and even the Renaissance Faire all by myself and i find it to be incredibly freeing. You can take time to think and analyze the things you are viewing, or eating just for fun. Plus you can listen to the museum guides and just roam at your own pace instead of with a friend who might have a different walking speed or attention span making you rush through and not appreciate the history OR slow down to where you get miffed.
