Fabulous video , very informative for this prarie guy . Just got my first conventional reels preparing for a tuna trip A Penn visx 16 and a 20 Will be loading the 16 with 80 pound berkley pro spec .... still deciding on the 20 .... any suggestions ? 100 or 130 pound of some kind I’m guessing ?

It depends what you plan to fish for? 100 pound spectra should be safe.

Can you tell me what is the make and model of your tackle box?
rdecinces Those are nice boxes and I carried them for years but just too heavy and limited storage. I had the SKB 7000 for inshore and the SKB 7200 for offshore. I sold them and starting using the Okuma Large Tackle Bag and have more room and it's so much lighter. Okuma also carries rolling tackle storage that you might like. Those SKB are amazing boxes but they are more designed for travel and being shipped, not so much for local so cal fishing. Good luck and Keep Tight Lines!

Dan, do you ever get sea sick? And how can I prevent it or do something about it while at sea? thanks
@dansportfishing7 жыл бұрын
no i don't. Don't drink the night before you go fishing. Also the patches seem to work best for people.

Baja Dan - As a former Marine having been floated all over the place, ill have to disagree. I still get sea sick looking at a glass of water. Before I go out, I see my doc and he writes me a script for the patches and meclazine (or however you spell it). Also, stay away from fatty or spicy foods the day before and the da of. Sadly, I still get sea sick but I also still go out fishing. It’s worth it...

Can an accurate boss fury 500 land 20-40 lb tuna?
@dansportfishing6 жыл бұрын
20-30 pound no problem, you might want a larger reel for 40 pounds and up for a tuna.

I don’t believe in having a lot of sunscreen around fishing tackle, I try my best to cover what I can with good sun protected clothes. The oils in sun screen are very durable an pungient and it could possible affect the fishes smell, alerting it to something not right about the bait. Just what I’ve heard and practiced but very nice simply box. No tadys or Salas is a shame but I understand he needs to protect his company
