Who remembers when the tight ends were supposed to be a thing? passing game is either TMAc or a bomb...no short/screen game or passes down the middle... run game is only up the middle and takes so much time to develop its like watching a pop warner game

Brenan claims to be a CEO type of coach. IMHO, that is a coach that is working less and losing control of the direction of the team. A perfect example is Mac Brown at Texas. Once he let go of the reigns, things went downhill.

It’s up to him… I agree we need a different OC. Depending if Coach Akina retires, we might need a new DC as well. I hear/read fans say that Brennan was a January hire and there weren’t many choices. The same applied to Brennan filling out his coaching staff. Some are better than others. The same applied to recruits commiting and de-commuting. Brennan knows what it takes to compete. Let’s see how he manages the off season. I’m not ready to go through the hiring process again.

Arizona is in a tough situation. If you fire Brennan at the end of the year, UA will likely lose many recruits and players to the portal. There will be a hefty buyout that will need to be paid. However, the fans would have a lot of respect for the school and athletic department for having the balls to do the right thing and put their support behind the new coach (provided it's not a horrible choice) and team and accept 2-3 tough years ahead. The fans will even be open to the school taking a chance on an up and coming offensive minded coach with little experience. If the UA keeps Brennan, many recruits and players will still opt to go elsewhere, and the school will lose the fans' respect and support for years to come. And the next hire will have to be a home run, no exceptions, and that's not likely to happen.

Mike, first time I disagree. I think there are great under the radar coaches out there. Why do we always have to go after some "safe" pick? Rich Rod never really coached defense. Get a young up and coming coach, let them move on, and then get another....you eventually build a solid program. The problem we've had if you really look at the history since losing Tomey, most coaches (outside Stoops) were big "name" coaches. Jed F was not, and he easily was more successful than any of the others. If you vet out a good under the radar coach, you can get a bargain. This mentality is why AZ football hasnt been relevant IMHO.

Maybe not over his head, but only in it for the $$$$$$. He can retire or go elsewhere with the buy out of 14 mill. He was shrewd, in a negative sense. Keep me or pay me to get rid of me was his approach. He duped the U of A into the terms of the contract. He would be a good politician. Campaign promises.

The UCF loss feels like Erickson's last year at ASU; when a team with better talent than Arizona quit, then lost badly in Tempe to the Cats. Now, Erickson on backside of his career won ten games his first year. BB is in his first??? Big 12 talking heads are calling U of A bad.

ASU fan, cmon now after the beat down on your field last year, at one point 52-7, your much improved team will show no mercy on a team that has shown no fight as of late. Skattebo will have a hell of a game. Unless UA can use the bye week and come up w some game plan for Houston, then on the road to TCU who will still be healthy for ASU? Dillinghams face after last years territorial cup game said it all. The Devils can’t wait to come down I-10 and rout us. We need to replace this coaching staff from the top down and start over.

RichRod was involved in multiple sexual harassment situations. He had that bizard contract of secrecy with staff. Then the shower incident where he strutted around with a towel in front of a female staff member. Not to mention the picture during a game showing his wife and mistress near each other. He is a total slimeball and not welcome back to Tucson. He was the first coach to put Michigan under NCAA supervision for violating practice hours. He and Herm Anderson are not the proper role models for young men. Wildly bizzare you would even mention Rodriguez.

Florida hired their alum Spurrier and his Gators won a National Title. After succeeding at Oregon, Cristobal returned to his alma mater The U, and in just two years his Canes are now 9-0. After OC stints at Memphis, Auburn, Florida State and Oregon, Dillingham was hired by his Alma Mater ASU and in just his second season the Devils are 6-2. Why doesn't the UofA embrace and hire its notable and experienced Wildcats Football alum. No need to spend money on a search committee to target a new HC. Promote instead to head coach Wildcat All Pac 10, All American, NFL All Pro, NFL experienced as Tennessee Titans Secondary and Defensive Coordinator Chuck Cecil. Retain Duane Akina, and Bobby Wade. UofA and Buffalo Bills Offensive lineman John Fina who played in two Super Bowls and lives in Tucson could coach the O-Line. Pitch to Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles on coaching the quarterbacks and being a co-offensive coordinator. At least try pitching Gronk (multiple Super Bowls wins with Brady and Belichick-[analyze and consult UofA football?]) on leaving NFL Today to coach the tight ends and being the other co-offensive coordinator. Talk Bruschi into coming back to coach the D-Line. Cecil and Akina can hire assistants to fill the remaining coaching positions including a new strength and conditioning coach. Lance Briggs, Spencer Larson, Ka'Deem Carey and Chris McAlister are all out there! Come on Arizona Football...Bear Down!
