What To Do After You Get Saved!

I wanted to make this video to give advice to new Christians who aren't quite sure about how to start out as a new Christian. How do you live this Christian life? How do you live your life for Jesus? What are some practical steps I should take after I give my life to the Lord? These are questions I wanted to answer for you! I've been batized before and tried to follow his ways.But I realized I can't live like that.And if we don't follow god he's going to basically kill us in hell.its like he's forcing us to follow him are he will kill us. Here's one that will bake your noodle.... Todays thought, a friend of mine who has been in church all his life ask this question, "How hard is Salvation" ??? This is still a question many struggle with.... I'm sure we could get many different answers to this question, the religious pharisees back when Jesus walked the streets of Jerusalem had an answer to that question and so they do today as well. Let us go down the rabbit hole a little deeper. I was not raised in Church, never heard the name Jesus until I was twenty four years old. Verbal and physical beatings growing up, i ran away at the age of thirteen, moved in with drug dealers. Jesus found me in a drug infested mess when I was 24 years old. Reading the bible was hard for me, I started out with reading just the red letters, found out later that the red letters was Jesus talking. Religious people would make me think that there was no way that I'd ever be able to measure up. Yes, at first Salvation seemed hard to me. Until one day I discovered the voice of the Holy Spirit. Salvation is a faith choice.... So simple we make it hard. The making salvation hard is a suggested trick of the enemy. Only a substantial suggestion. I used to struggle with this one greatly, thinking there is no way someone as bad as me could ever be saved. ... Then I heard these words in my heart, this has been over thirty years ago, some would say it was just me but I believe it was the voice of Holy Spirit, I heard, "Salvation is as simple as the two thieves on the Cross story" "One thief did not believe that Jesus was who he said he was, The One.... One thief did believe Jesus was who he said he was." The One.... Jesus didn't tell the thief who believed to get down from the Cross, go to church for 30 years, learn to memorize and qoute every scripture and then come back and see me, No, Jesus told him, "This day you will be with me in paradise." We the people complicate Salvation, yet salvation is extremely simple. God sent his only One Son Jesus that ALL could be saved, God meant for everyone to be saved. God wanted it to be simple, the only thing is, God made "Free Will" just as simple. Yes, since we are not on a Cross, God does expect us to grow as his little children, but it never changes the fact that we first simply believe Jesus is who he says he is, The One. Jesus has come to make us one's just like him. If we get out of line, the good Father in heaven, Our Father, he knows how to line us back up, just like we try to do our own children. Just because our children get out of line, don't mean they are no longer our children, remember the story of the Prodigal Son? Speaking of the prodigal Son, Jesus said that he will never leave us or forsake us, yet we can, with our Free Will walk away from him. This is why we have the story of Jesus leaving the ninty nine to go after the one, Jesus didn't leave the one, the one left him. But even when we do walk out of his hand, because we first believed, he will always leave the ninty nine to come find us, The One. Have you walked away before? I have, thank God he came and rescued me, again and again. Lucifer/Satan was once ONE of Gods most choice Angel's, yet Lucifer in his own free will made the choice that he didn't want to come back, he didn't want God to rescue him and sadly, some humans make that same choice. But just like the simplicity of the two thieves on the Cross story, it's a simple choice. God never makes it hard, we do. Don't think you are, know you are, one of the One's. I'm not 100% new, but I'm definitely newer to my faith and it can definitely be intimidating for new believers and sometimes Christians can be judgmental that a new believer doesn't already know things like what are the gospels and why is baptism important...you present your faith and advice in such a welcoming and understanding atmosphere and I think I speak for all of your viewers when I say how appreciative we are of you opening your arms and heart on this channel. I've always believed in divine energy of the universe that guides us and helps us through life. However, due to very bad association with Jesus/God in my childhood I have rejected that faith.. Connected it with anger.. I am now on the journey to embracing the words of God and have renewed my perspective of the bible/God. Your channel is very refreshing to watch. I was baptized at age seven. But I wish I waited. I really only did it because my dad is a pastor and I thought it was the right thing to do. I don't even remember it... I'm 18 now and I really want to be baptized again now that I understand it and have really committed my life to Jesus.

So. Good. I think I'm going to share this in my class tomorrow. A lot of the kids in our church don't have parents who attend and Sunday mornings are typically their only time spent worshipping and learning about God. I know going to church is great but it's not a requirement just as getting baptized. I do pray that I find a church that is good for me. Thanks so much Rebecca:) And I think you should go ahead and get baptized again! I was saved at a very young age but I ended up rededicating my life at the altar when I was 8 years old. And it made a big difference in my life:)

so I'm a mother, homemaker an wife I was saved again October 22 I currently have no vehicle an live in the country with nearest store an church being 20+ miles away, I don't know who to turn to. an I'm desperately needing a spiritual refreshment an mental break I can't currently have. is there any advise or place online you could suggest for me?

Hey Kaitlin, thank you for sharing. Here is the advice I would give you though it's incomplete in some ways because I've never met you and had a face to face, in depth conversation with you to get to know you more. And I don't think we need that to be able to share with each other some here on KZbin! :) But I would say to start ask the Lord in prayer to provide a way for you to make it to church 20 miles away. It sounds simple and though He already knows our needs before we ask, He still asks us to ask Him. Secondly I would say see if any of the "local" churches twenty or so miles away from you have online services or podcast services and listen to/ watch them to get an idea of where you would like to begin to go to church when God does provide a way for you. Third, once you find a church service that provides a way for you to watch or listen to their main service online, stick with it and email the church explaining your situation and tell them you are watching online. It's not about emailing them to ask for a ride to church (though they may have a solution regarding that). The email is more about connecting with the pastoral staff at the church and letting them know you are engaging with their congregation of Christians at some level until you are able to more fully engage. I pray and hope this advice is helpful for you. Do not be discouraged! I have a Bible verse for your to write down and remind yourself of every time you feel discouraged! Here it is: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9. Hold tightly to that verse. Speak it aloud. Write it down and post it around your home. Make it the screen saver on your phone or ipad or computer. And continue to ask in faith the Lord for His help !

One question I have is how do you recommend reading the Old Testament? I read Psalms, Proverbs, and something from the New Testament everyday. Hi Anna! Another beautiful video :) I just had a quick question....my family doesn't go to church, not that they don't believe we have just never discussed anything like that. I asked my mom about getting a bible and she was totally accepting of it, yet I'm afraid I'm not truly doing all I can as a new Christian. I'm not able to go to church and I have never been baptized. Anna, I got saved a few years ago but I don't know when. I know one time after that I was at VBS and you went to a room and got saved. I was already saved but I wanted to do it anyway. Is it okay if I don't know when I was saved
