Watching this video after obsessively making 6 gauge swatches until 5 in the morning is such a relieved feeling I tried changing the yarn, hook size and it never meets the gauge, now im gonna use your advice Thank you ❤

Thank you for this gauge series. I definitely find gauge swatching tedious, but I seem to crochet tighter than "normal" so it is always important to swatch,and now I understand how to troubleshoot things better. Thanks again! ❤🧶❤️

Point well taken. My mom was a loose knitter, and she made us mittens all the time when we were teenagers, using a toddler sized pattern!

Yeah, that's a great tactic! Sounds like shebhad a good understanding of her knitting style!

Finally someone who talks about real problems. I hate when people must have the yarn of the pattern, must be exact. Not all people have the resources to make a 150 dollar garment.

I always wonder if your gauge is too many stitches will that make the sweater smaller or larger and vice-versa too few stitches = a smaller or larger garment? Thank you for your video. 😊

Good question! If your gauge has too many stitches in it, that's because all of your stitches are smaller than the intended gauge. If you work the item with your gauge, I'll turn out smaller.

Very good discussion. How close would you say is "close enough"?
@SEKHandmade8 ай бұрын
Great question. I think it really depends on what you're making. If it's something that doesn't need a close fit, than you may not have to be too accurate. Just be sure you have enough yarn. If it's a pattern that needs a fairly close fit, you may want to think about making adjustments depending on the construction of the project.

Does this work for hats? I'm a beginner.
@SEKHandmade9 ай бұрын
Yep! Crochet hats can be a more tricky to fit than knitted hats. I talk more about that in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKHGZZuJg7Gpr7c
