I had a homeowner practically beg me to take over a mold remediation project from a supposedly negligent contractor; after successful completion, months later he showed up at my house threatening to sue. My suspicion told me that he was fishing since the insurance copany refused to cover a mold claim. I sternly replied that he better have a deep pocket because he has to litigate against a mortgage company. Never heard from that moron again. Morally deficit People are wanting a windfall now more than ever, so cover your butt.

I guess anyone can sue anyone for just about anything that you can imagine that they can claim as "damages". However, even if you get a judgment againt the defendant, that judgment itself isn't going to just magically turn into all that money that you are sueing the defendant for. Especially if they are poor and have nothing to take.

Most business owners are dumb asses. I recently had a contractor over invoice by a significant amount of money. I told him I'll pay you what I agreed no more. He sued me and lost. Always use a PO system.
