In your personal experience once you have gotten to the settlement mediation stage how long is the norm for things to settle?

It varies. We always try to take care of business so we don’t delay. The issue isn’t really how long but rather how much. Things can take longer if the defendants are not offering fair value. The only way to force them is to go to trial

No magic number. It’s all up to the defendants and the pressure put on them by the plaintiff lawyers.

I have my deposition in a month or so.. I'm gonna let them have it... I was injured in a gym, and suffered a concussion.. literally blacked out for like 10 mins.. I started a new job after it happened, and my headaches were so severe... I'm always in constant pain... the injury happened 3 years ago too.. when I workout now I get super nervous when I touch certain equipment..

Hello...i was hit in the head, face, and eye with plexiglass inside of a bank. The bank let me walk out and eye dr who i seen right after the accident told me to go back up to bank and inquiry about an incident report. So i did....they apologized up and down to me for not getting my contact information... They filed a claim days later through their liability rep and in the letter stated that they were %100 a fault. Im still seeing therapist, psychiatrist, and surgeon and reg eye dr... My headaches and migraines occurr often without my meds and soon will have a cat scan. Also ive kept a journal since Nov 3rd of last year. What would you recommend and im only 37 yrs old and depression has taken over my life and meds... If i want 2.2. Million to take home what would you suggest me to do...???

I live in Indiana and Indiana is a Good Faith state...im very well known...but i stopped teaching...i work out alone now...im always alone. I was diagnosed with PTSD and Body and Image and surgeon diagnosed me with Ptosis and opened up my tear duct. My eye still waters randomly and headaches and migraines i believe occur from the light.

Sorry to hear that. Yea I believe what you described can be a multi million dollar case as long as the liability is strong and you do the right medical treatment. Do you have a trial lawyer willing to go the distance ?

If you brought a lawsuit for money damages and the defendant notices your deposition you have to attend. Otherwise the case will be dismissed

If liability is clear, but I had pre-existing injuries, is that why we had a deposition.

They do depositons in nearly all cases but with a pre-existing you want to show how the injury was made worse or what new additional injury this accident caused
