I was here recently in October, absolutely loved it here. I think I missed out on the street of flowers, next time I guess. The Mezquita is so stunning, I was truly mesmerised when I was in there. Excellent video content here, so valuable. New sub here.

3:35 The oranges aren't the kind for eating. They are ornamental and are used to make bitter marmelade or to add scents to soap etc. Tourists pick them, take a bite, then spit them back out.

Yup exactly! I learnt during my free tour that in actual fact they were used to make marmalade to help against sea sickness. If you think of the word marmalade in French = mar (sea) malade (sick) ! 😄

We used to have the exact same oranges back in my grandpa house garden in Syria. My grandma used to make marmalade too and also juice by adding sugar and lemon juice to it. We call it “Naranj”

Sempre vejo este vídeo me lembro de perguntar pro meu avô como era sua cidade em 1917 quando ele tinha 9 anos de idade, meu avô disse nós fomos até a casa de meu irmão mais velho ele era casado tinha filhos fomos visitar ele pela última vez fui junto com meu irmão Rafael Rodrigues o meu irmão José minha irmã Maria meu pai e minha mãe depois de se despedir passamos por uma ponte medieval e conforme nós se distanciavamos numa carroça de bois eu atrás da carroça olhando vi a ponte sumindo da minha visão foram dias cansativos tínhamos que parar pra comer alimentar os bois dar água a eles descansar para pode chegar ao Porto de Gibraltar na Espanha chegamos lá meu pai disse vamos comprar a passagem para New York na mesma hora disse meu avô a mãe dele disse se for para ir para aquela terra dos ingleses eu fico aqui mesmo na Espanha pois ainda tenho 1 filho e netos aqui meu pai com medo que os filhos ficassem com a mãe na Espanha embarcaram outro navio para América do Sul o Brasil este navio com destino ao Porto de santos já dentro da embarcação o pai de meu avô disse venham para cá meus queridos filhos venha até o bico de proa eu fui disse meu avô aí o pai dele disse vejam o nome deste navio carpathia foi este navio que a 5 anos atrás em 1912 salvou os sobreviventes do Titanic a viagem foi longa durou quase 2 meses porque o navio era lento a vapor as vezes parava o navio foi uma viagem cansativa até aqui na cidade de santos em 1984 meu avô disse é Ivanildo eu não tive culpa de vir parar aqui neste país pequeno sabe eu tinha 9 anos que vontade me dá de ir a Córdoba visitar meu irmão se é que esteja vivo mesmo porque todos outros aqui já morreram só estou eu o mais novo ele que ficou lá era o mais velho talvez nem esteja vivo disse vai no consulado da Espanha peça a sua cidadania espanhola você tem este sobrenome espanhol porque eu nasci na Espanha seu sobrenome e paian porque eu nasci lá mais não fui depois em abril de 1988 ele morreu meu avô depois fui no consulado espanhol da av Ana Costa em santos em 2014 me falaram que o governo espanhol mudou a lei de pedir a cidadania espanhola somente para filhos e netos maiores como o senhor e neto maior o governo espanhol emitiu um documento em dezembro de 2000 eu fui criado pelo meu tio Waldemar paian está como pai no meu registro de nascimento porque quem cuidava de mim era minha avó dona Quadalupe Valadares Paian mais em 1969 minha avó com câncer no hospital disse pro Tite Waldemar paian quem vai cuidar dessa criança a Carmen não tem condições mentais para isso ele olhou pra minha avó disse deixa eu vou registrar ele como meu filho foi isso meu pai segundo minha mãe foi embora com outra mulher pra Curitiba eu só vi ele uma vez quando eu tinha 6 anos de idade ele conversava com o Tite apelido nome Waldemar paian meu tio irmão de minha mãe mais registro de como meu pai ele disse vai pra lá eu vi um homem moreno alto de bigode olhos grandes cabelos pretos olhar pra mim mais eu nem sabia depois meu tio Tite Waldemar paian disse sabe quem era aquele homem eu disse quem ele falou teu pai eu disse poxa porque não me falou e me chamou meu tio Waldemar paian porque eu disse a ele que eu te registrei você como filho ele foi embora meu tio disse que ele tinha uma oficina mecânica em São Bernardo do campo em São Paulo e um táxi não sei de mais nada enfim essa é uma de minhas histórias uma tem tantas mais prefiro nem dizer

Great question! To be honest with you when I was editing the music, I had already done videos on Seville, Malaga and Cordoba and had used up my free flamenco music. Didn't find another to use so I ended up going for something else that could fit :)

Was one of the most unique experiences! And nope, they dont force you to buy anything afterwards :) Its a great AIRBNB experience to meet people, learn from a local and part-take in something interesting. Highly recommend it!

Montilla is not very far South almost direct south. It’s claim to fame relates to the citizenry over time of Cervantes, Saint John, and Garselosa de La Vega; the Inca who was the child of an Inca princess and a Spanish conquistador. A park at the lower edge of town has statues of the parents and a marble statue of the famous son. There is a also “Casa del Indio” which was not open when we were there.
