If you are a beginner in ESO this guide will show you everything you should do in your first hour of gameplay. ESO is a very vast game and these beginner tips will help make it easier for you. Well the first thing i do with every one of my toons is unlock the Psijic Order skill line. Why? It gives you an another type of resource node, and makes is easier to get more items to your stickerbook.

As mentioned by Adam, Unlock mages, fighters, and undaunted skill lines. Unlock scrying and excavation (Greymoor DLC/ESO+ required). Do zone story. The zone story quest giver will have the icon on their head. (7:42). Do crafting certification. Oh almost forgot, SEARCH every container/urn/crates/wardrobe. You will never know what you will find. If you see a lockpick, take it.

While you're in the Mage's Guild, check all the Bookshelves. Check bookshelves anyway, for free advancement to rando skill lines, but there's a lot of them in the starter Mage's Guild. It really gives you a head start without having to find and equip a bunch of Weapons, and Armor.

I did the tutorial, picked up guilds, then went to do the two companion quests. That got me to level 5 with a bit of gold. A couple of local quests got me to 6 and the crafting certifications. The companions need to level anyway, so might as well do it along with me from the start.

Just bought "The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: High Isle" and I'm a bit worried, as I've watched a couple of different videos that are "beginner guides" and the game seams quite complicated and complex. I really appreciate you putting together these guides and playlist, as I think it will likely help me to feel a bit less overwhelmed with the game. My experience was a bit similar, as it's my first ever MMO, but I just jumped in, and went from there, and it went rather well! The world is so wonderful, maybe for the first day just follow the main quest line of the area you choose, explore a bit, grind a bit (kill some enemies, for instance beasts, usually all around, to get accointed with combat), ans that's it...just let the magic of the world take over

There is a jewelry crafting certification, too. The guy who does it only does that one thing, but that makes for seven daily crafting writs.

Please continue this series all the way to CP 160, please. I know I said please twice. I'll say it again ... please. I already have character well beyond CP 160, but I don't always get there the best way. Especially when I first started, because I didn't understand the basis of the game or the differences in the alliances. This will be of help to me even now, because I still don't have all 9 toons, yet. And only 3 above level 50.

Since Blackwood launched there have been some bugs such as: porting times are insane ..took me 5 min to port into a delve and just going into some buildings. I took a new toon into Blackwood (Why not)? and the exp gain was brutal. I know how to level a new toon and never had it taken me that long to level to 6 lol over 3 hours. I know this isn't normal, So with that being said, if a new player were to start now they might get the wrong impression of the game just by what I experienced last night. Before Blackwood, I would always start in Solitude which for me became ideal. Everything is centrally located and you don't have to run all over the place and get lost. I would tell a new player, Don't try and rush through quest and don't get overwhelmed by taking too many quest at once as that sometimes will send a new player into a tailspin trying to figure out why their original quest disappeared from the top of their screen, confusion will and does set in! also Enjoy the scenery because ESO has some of the most beautiful scenery. SO when I get burned out on questing, I just wander around and farm crafting material and check out all the nooks and crannies of a zone and take in the beauty of the sites!! It is Amazing! Kinda like I am wandering around this post!!

It actually drives me crazy that taking a new quest removes my currently tracked quest. It also drives me crazy that almost everything you do gives you items that have no relevance to your current character. I am currently cp140 and still using sub level 50 items for the most part because all I get is light or heavy gear and staves and two handed weapons when I am a stamina nightblade, bow/ dual wield.

U actually dont have to be lvl 6 for the crafting. Its just lvl 6 for jewlery. U can actually get to lvl 5 only doing the startquest for the daly writs.

I flipped over to EU server too. Forgot what it was like to begin all over again. I went on a thieving spree to gain gold so I could pay for mount training. That also let me get lockpicks which I laundered. Then I began the mages and fighters guilds, cuz they are in the same towns for each stage. I also found and joined a traders guild so I had real people to use for travel and open wayshrines. Plus, I asked in the guild chat if any had soul gems to give me and scored way more than I needed. So dont forget that other players can be very helpful. Between doing the fighter $ mages guilds I did the main quest to get to the starter zone. I make it a point to stay in the starter zone not to just do the main quests (incldg fishing) but to get training gear that I will wear until I get to 160.

While in Balfiera, take Light, Medium and Heavy armor. Don't waste any time, progress all Armor skill lines right since the start!

I support quest lines for lvl'ing even if it's a bit slower than dolmans/zombies w/ training gear, the skill pts gained more than make up for it, esp if your scrolled up, the xp comes pretty fast.

I just started the game but have all the content...it’s a lot. I did pick up a companion early for fun and to level them with me. I shut off all the prologue quest markers so I can more easily focus on main and sides...but man are the prologue npcs annoying! Always screaming at me in every town.

DO NOT SKIP THE TUTORIAL. You will have to reroll your character. Skipping the tutorial drops you off with only 1 or 2 weapons that may not fit your class and 2 pieces of armor. I rolled a Nightblade and had to delete it because the only weapons I got was a battle axe and a bow. I couldn't use any of my skills. So the first hour is 100% tutorial every single time unless you are an archer or a fighter. Sad they didn't even consider that there would be other classes.

This is false information for any newbies reading this. Any class can use any weapon and weapon doesn't restrict class skill (or any skill other than weapon skills), and you'll always be given a battle axe, staff, and bow when you leave the tutorial whether you skip it or not. If you want to use something like a 1-handed weapon or a restoration staff, you can get them right after the tutorial by looting enemies or buying cheap ones from blacksmiths in town.

I started this game 3 days ago and hoped this would be helpful but it feels like a video for an alt after messing up your true first character. Most of this stuff totally flies over my head. This isn't a video for beginners. Heck after having done the tutorial I still dont know if I picked the right starting zone. I had a room full of choices and its all so confusing starting in 2023

I think you skipped wearing 1 piece of each time (after equipping 3 of that type) so you can level the skill line.

How would I begin to create an epic stamblade character, for later content ofc, that wants to focus on Dro mAthra gear? I want to use dual daggers, with maybe a secondhand bow. I’m aware a lot of players might have alternative opinions on how to build an epic stamblade character but these are the pre-requisites I’ve listed above for my build. I eventually want everything Dro mAthra ie. Gear, Mount, Pet, Skin…everything. I know it may be a long, long way down the track but that’s what I’m hoping to achieve. I went to fighters guild in Daggerfall. Lyris Titanborn is there to talk to, but I can't join the FG. On another character I think I remember tjust walking in and a dialogue that ended in an invitation to join. Did I miss something?

It's not best in slot but to be honest, in the end game, races don't really matter all too much. They have nice passive bonuses that can make your life a little bit easier but they don't make or break a build.
