I spent a week traveling around central Japan, and here are some things you can do in Nagano Prefecture in the winter!
In part 1 of my Japan winter series, I visited the beautiful mountains in Chino and Komagane city in Nagano.
The views at the top of Mt. Kurumayama and Senjojiki Cirque were breathtaking and best of all you can get to the top easily by a ski lift or cable car.
For those who want more of a workout, it's a great starting place to hike to the other mountains in the Japan alps!
Stay tuned for part 2 where I share with you what you can do around the city and a hidden gem in Nagano!

My favourite time of the year to visit Japan is summer! 🌞 Many people rule out the summer months due to the rainy season, heat and humidity, but visiting during summer does have some advantages! It really doesn't actually rain every day, you get plenty of day light hours and accommodation is much cheaper. Many places are pleasantly uncrowded and some spots which usually get swarmed by tourists during spring or autumn are super quiet and serene. I literally found myself to be the only visitor at some temples or shrines. 🤯 Also I absolutely love the scenery in Japan during summer, especially in the countryside! 🌻 Lush green maple trees and rice fields, the sound of cicadas and gorgeous flowers everywhere. 🥰 Kamakura is a wonderful place to visit while the hydrangea flowers (ajisai) are in full bloom and there are a few beaches as well to cool off. Summer also has some amazing festivals! I was lucky to catch some events of the Gion Matsuri festival while in Kyoto, which were remarkable. Highly recommend to visit Japan during the summer months if you're able to cope with some heat and humidity. Plus it's Japan so you're never far from a vending machine to keep you hydrated. 😉 Just don't forget to bring sunscreen and mosquito spray with you! 😅 Otherwise you get to pack light for a summer trip as you don't need warm clothes - so you got more space in your bags to bring loads of stuff back home with you. 😁👌🏻

I'm here in Japan for 3 months and the hotel in the snow Mount that you showed looked soooo cool so I said to myself why don't I go and come there for a day or two? Just for the experience and for fun anddd here comes the part that I, (very) got into trouble in all of this. I'm currently in Tokyo and I can't find almost any trains to get there... I found some trains that coming into the city next to the mountain where the hotel is located, but I didn't find any way to get to the mountain itself where the hotel is located, I tried to communicate with the hotel staff to ask them how to get there from the city To the mountain and how do I get permission to go up the cable car? And where the hell is the cable car anyway? Where do I have to go to get to it at all? but. On the (only) website that this hotel is available for reservation, I couldn't find anywhere to communicate with the hotel staff... so you are more or less my last hope here... so in short, how do I get from the city to the hotel's cable car? And where is anyway? And how do I get permission to get on this cable car at all? Great video btw!
