A lot of cats think pre-orders are a scam. I'm not in that camp, but it definitely is opportunism. Cats that do pre-orders are banking on having a consumer base that can't reasonably predict how a shoe will perform at release. And, trust, we notice when those sellers hype shoes to help facilitate that process. I see cats hyping shoes THEY KNOW are going to sit. If they can convince potential buyers they'll be hard to get, that drives pre-orders. I don't knock that hustle. I just wish these sellers would admit that it's part and parcel of the business and stop pretending they're doing their buyers a favor. You made some excellent points though. Patience has been so key for me over the past few years. Here's a quick tip: Any shoe that releases, that isn't hyped, is likely to sit and later go on steep discounts as they start crowding back rooms. Product is constantly coming in. There's only so much real estate available to house shoes that aren't moving. How do you get them to move? Cut the price. Having a shoe right away is tempting, but if you can wait, it'll pay major dividends. As a knowledgeable buyer, even I get thirsty and occasionally pay a box price that will be cut by two-thirds or even half 4-5 weeks after release. Look at the Red Cement's and Denim 6's. Had cats just waited, those could've been had WELL UNDER RETAIL. I was driving myself crazy trying to grab the Royal Toes (a shoe I didn't even want at first 😂). I have taken 10 L's between release day and now. I finally just got over it and said, "there will ALWAYS be another shoe." Take my advice... BE HUNGRY, NOT THIRSTY. On to the Flint 13's and Dark Mocha 1's next weekend.

That is great advice. I got into the shoe game in 2013. I made it a point that I would never pay resell. There have been two shoes I have paid resell for and that total is resell is less than $100. I’m not against reselling. I have paid for shoes of mine that way by reselling shoes. But I love shoes but to me they are just shoes. You can still get GR pairs that are fire. No need to pay outrageous prices. And those Royal toes he is telling the truth. I sold mine for $300 from the shock drop and then the price dropped. I just went with the market and sold quick. It’s like that in the game sometimes.
