What To Do When Your Value Won't Format as Currency in Microsoft Access

In this Microsoft Access tutorial I'm going to teach you how to take a value in a query that you want to format as a currency value but Access won't let you. We will use the CCur function to convert a text value to a currency value.

Does amyone else find it absolutely insane that Access can take 2 numeric fields (price and quantity), perform a mathematical operation on them (multiply them together), and return the answer as text rather than a number? What were the developers thinking ? Richard, i watched your "small tables" video. Very clever. However when I want to run a query that returns the customers and their (say) City (not City ID), it doesn't seem to work, as it doesn't return any records. Any ideas mate?

If you mean HELPER tables, just join them together in a query
