Great advice on the insurance. I just got a 2019 Yxz 1000r SS SE and won't take it out till insured and fully dressed the way I want it. While alot people call them toys there expensive and 1 mistake be you or the other person it takes alot to fix them. Great advice no matter what you ride. Thanks for sharing your story.

I just irritating that people just feel the need to run these without insurance, financed or not, this person needs to be held responsible for at minimum your deductible. Glad you got all of this got sorted out. Crazy happened to me we were heading out to glamis this Saturday at about 11:58 am. And we were towing my trailer and we saw some wiring hanging off the side of the trailer so we pulled over and we just got onto the 86. And l get out of my truck and go to the passenger side of the trailer and the hole left side of the trailer was ripped off!! So it totally mest up our trip come to find out it was water damage and wind got between the panel and the wood and to a sense blow up that side of the trailer. Thank God we have it insured. Hope you get that 2020 man!

I just went through a similar situation with Geico. I was hit by someone who also had Geico. Driving parallel down a three lane street, she had to turn left. I'm in the far left lane. She drives right into my car. Geico said our staments were different. Each party was responsible for the repairs. I put dash cameras in all of my vehicles shortly after.

Smart move is to have stated value insurance. or like you said you did your homework. Best part is no one was hurt this time. Keep in mind that full coverage my not include Under insured motorist and Uninsured motorist which is the line item of insurance, that covers you if injured in a accident

I'm glad that things worked out with you and geico. I had bought an ATV and paid it all cash upfront. had just got it put into my name and insured and then a month later it got stolen. they were treating me as if I had done that purposely and they were doing a full blown investigation on me I never ended up getting anything from geico. I just dropped them as an insurance company luckily 2 weeks later I got a call from the police department saying they confiscated my ATV from the back thief

Just crashed my 2020 yesterday. Not as much damage as yours but, there is obvious frame damage on the front end. Not sure if they'll total it but, if they do I'll likely buy it back and repair it. It did what it was supposed to, kept everyone safe. We have X-3's (wife has her own!) and feel quite safe in them I saw a stock X-3 roll ALL THE WAY down comp hill at Dumont. The cage was damaged but didn't collapse. People walked away.

Most cases these machines end up being in worst shape than they look on the outside and with high cost of replacement parts the insurance companies more often than not end up totalling them out. It pays to have insurance, I learned it the hard way.

I'm not one to sue, but insurance or not, the guy that hit you is liable. At least for your $500 deductible. I will never understand why people don't automatically start and carry insurance on something that costs more than double what I paid for my first car (especially if they are financing the machine) I had full coverage on my Teryx4 (15k machine) as soon as I was able to get the VIN from the unit I was purchasing.

Hey, keep us posted. I'm with Geico also. I'm in the legal business and experience in insurance claims and salvage. Your rates will definitely go up (most likely on your renewal) as will ALL of ours out there. There are hundreds of these SxS being totalled monthly across the nation. Only a matter of time before these policies approach the cost of a full size car, truck. These are usually totalled with no effort made to repair and a 30k loss wont go unnoticed by the bean counters at Gieco and elsewhere.

After watching a pro xp and now this maverick after what seems like fairly minor crash and all the carnage (come on cracked frame etc should NOT happen at all IMO and I have rolled a race car doing over 130mph with less damn damage) I am not sold on any of these being built worth a shit. Built this way on purpose. Built to absorb impact and protect occupants. Far cheaper to total out a vehicle and not pay out for medical expenses due to injuries injuries. Make sure you carry medway on the policy.

If you can't get a bank to help you, the dealers can always find a way, problem is rates will be high Dealer rates can be from 6%to 12% and probably higher depending on your credit

Bro even if the insurance company totals it you can retain the salvage title and keep your atv. Also you can file a diminished value claim against the insurance company to reclaim the 20% or more the insurance company didn’t compensate you for.

We just bought a new to us 2017 RZR1000 4seater loaded low miles our dream. I was thinking about should I? I should? That honda looks flawless and it jacked your rig up bad. I can see that happening any where there are other cars and that's just about any kickin weekend, any where, somewhere, in the dirt, sand.or whatever. Still suks I started personifying our car before it even left our garage for the first run. Of course we live in Reno and was ass cold out.and no window at the time that was a first. People would think twice if a few judgments were doled out by the courts and the responsible party ended up with a 30k lien on there house or wages being garnished to cover the payout...would make that 30 dollar a month insurance payment that seemed too expensive up front look really cheap in hindsight
