Great video. First time here. My Pepper is doing this right now. I updated her protein intake with dried Black Soldier Fly Larvae. It's readily available, even at my local Wall-mrt. I paid $8 bucks for a latge 1lb bag. Chickens love it. Depending on how the larvae is processed, ie; dried, frozen or live, they are a whopping 35 to 50 % protein. In warmer climate zones, many people easily farm their own giving them free super healthy food their girls love. They are also farmed for fish food in ponds or aqua-ponic systems. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Helped a lot. You were the first channel to come up on my search. I didn't know about the protein and it made my day knowing I was helping her without even knowing it. =)

I was waiting for you to say "protein". Another source of protein that people don't often think about is bones. O.k., bones with meat left on them. If you hunt and were fortunate to get a deer or 2, you can save the deboned carcass to give your chickens during their molt. They will love it!

That is a great idea! I would have never thought about the bones. Thanks for sharing.
