Thank you for sharing your adventures through South Africa. We have been able to see some beautiful places that in all honesty, we will never have the opportunity to get to. Should opportunity arise, then we will definitely follow in your footsteps. We live on the Australian east coast north of Sydney. We managed over the weekend, to go to Samurai Beach at Port Steven's. It is a clothing optional beach and it is the only beach near Sydney that can be driven onto by 4wd without having to buy a permit. It wasn't over crowded and the ratio of clad/non-clad was around 50/50. By watching your channel, we mustered up the courage to take the non-clad option and the experience of sun, sea and sea breeze was wonderful! Thank you again for your channel and who knows, we may even see you here in our part of the world one day.

Honestly, this is the first time we hear about riots in PE. Of course, we only drove through the city and spent most of our time on the outskirts. We did indeed learn some Afrikaans words, and since the language is so close to Dutch, we could actually understand most of it

Which rental car company did you use and what was the vehicle make and model?

We rented with Avis, because their prices were pretty good and they have an office in Menlyn, Pretoria which is pretty close to SunEden resort. We asked for a Toyota Rav2, but got a VW Tiguan instead. Which proved to be an excellent car for the South African roads.

A word on the Afrikaners: They make up 4.5% of the population. And yet thry still control a large part of the economy. U might find that many of them own guest houses and farms. As a tourist, u r very likely to be housed by Afrikaners, esp if u r a naturist. So, hearing words like "baie dankie" is very likely to originate from them, while tbe majority of the people (blacks) are unlikely to use these. As for farms for an estate, its also probably an Afrikaner tbing. So about what I've just discussed, you were wrong. I think u got everything else right. Nick, I didnt always like u. I felt u were very opiniated. But i warmed up to u in the good old end! As for Lins....she is a DARLING of a woman! Great soul!!! Beautiful inside and out. U will go very far in life, Lins! To the both if u, glad u enjoyed our country! Take care🙏

You're right, we should have added a side note that we were mostly in contact with white South Africans. Although the black South Africans we met often spoke a couple of words of Afrikaans as well. Glad to hear that you've warmed up to Nick, he can have quite strong opinions which he shouldn't always share, but he means good 😉
