My car has 268k on it. Runs like a champ. Still passing smog no problems. I think most negatives to 240sx are operator errors.

@@dimahavens4366 If you can find one at a decent price sure. If you do get one, focus on maintaining it and getting the basic maintenance stuff out of the way before you start trying to put 18x11 wheels and stupid over fenders and 200 degrees of negative camber. And heart grab handles.

Just got a 240sx, high mileage but honestly I feel more better equipped after owning a 1990 eagle talon tsi. Besides this 240sx is way in better condition than my eagle, no rust, ac and heater works, no grinding gears or warped rotors. A miracle to say the least lmao. Still needs work here and there but honestly happy with my purchase. Can’t wait to restore her and baby her! Hoping I get more miles outta the stock ka24de!

Teenagers: 240SX are crap are hard to maintain and everything will be broken. Older people..driving their 240SX for the past 20+ years with normal maintenence with no issues. It's a car, not a space ship. Restore it and enjoy it or be like ths guy.

That's not the problem. USDM 240sx really are bad. You don't hear many negatives with 200sx or 180sx compared to 240sx. I own a 240sx and the first thing I did was engine swap it and I haven't had any problems other than basic maintenance.

@@Alex-vz2jz Wrong. I have had my car since 2004. It now has 268k miles on it. It has not ONCE given me an issue. Not once. Look at you, you didn’t even give the car a chance, like everyone does. Cops a 240 swaps the engine with whatever and slams it down into the ground. Not knowing there are two main wiring harnesses that run over the front two wheels. After they cut that to shit now they wonder why they have a million electrical problems. It’s ignorance. 200sx here in the states are just fine as well. Unless you have a 180sx or a Silvia, you can’t speak to their reliability.

​@@HelpingHandAutoRepair I swapped mine because the previous owner did that sht (slammed the car and beat the sht out of it) I swapped it to fix those problems and i haven't had any issue yet. I do like the look of a slammed car but i would never drive a slammed car. I like practically over looks Sure a stock KA can be reliable but its just not for everyone, back then sure it would make sense to swap one out because of how cheap many engine where. Now adays if you want to swap your engine you really have to commit to it and pretty much have a good reason to do so. With todays prices for many engines your better sticking with the KA.

I have beat the crap out of my car from 2006-2010 SCCA and HPDE events. Stock KA with lots of suspension work. Yet and still. It starts right up when I need it and goes wherever I want it to go. Only modification I would do is boost the KA. SR is cool but as you say everything today is far more expensive than it should be. I used to be able to buy 240s for $1000 or cheaper. Now, geez.
