Starting out this episode, Francois introduces Carmyn Schoeman, who handles much of the logistics and administration for Kaiwhai Safaris. Carmyn answers some of the most asked questions, including explaining the process of flying from the US to Namibia or South Africa to start your safari adventure. Luckily, there aren't any visa applications or immunizations in order to fly in to either country. They even go into details about either shipping your preferred hunting rifle or borrowing one of the amazing Crown Precision Arms rifles provided by Kaiwhai Safaris. When you book a safari through Kaiwhai, the team works hard to ensure your trip is as easy and painless so you can focus on what matters: the hunt!
On the first day of the safari, the hunters do some shooting prep to ensure their rifles are ready for the hunt, scopes are zeroed in, and the hunters are ready for shooting off the sticks. When you're trekking through the bush, there's rarely time to line up a shot from the prone or seated position. Since mobility is key, shooting sticks offer a great way to get a steady bead on your quarry, but allowing for quick adjustments and movement. Locked and loaded, it's time to take off into the wilderness in search of big game.
Cory tracks down an impala, getting within 173 yards and taking him with a clean shot in the neck. Next up was Richard who hiked for hours to get a bead on an oryx. After some interruptions by wild giraffes, Richard makes a great shot from 113 yards out to take the 520 lb Gemsbuck bull.
