Good tips bro. I'm a ramp agent at Menzies Aviation. However, when we bring in Korean Airlines, they always have an airline staff follow us to the carousel to make sure we don't throw the bags onto the conveyor. Of course, this delays flights offloading close to a hundred bags sometimes, especially when I'm the only runner.

Damn bro, your ATS station looks like it runs so much more smoothly than ours. The ATS I work for is so god damn unorganized that half of the ramp agents are walking around trying to find their crew. Crews are supposed to be random but half the poas only take their friends which creates a bunch of sitting ramp agents with no idea where to go. You'd think the direct supervisors would do something about it but nope, they care more about socializing. Just had a supervisor laugh at a trainee when she couldn't find the assigned poa (poa in question called out).

Probably a dumb question, but do they provide all the equipment you mentioned and can you choose certain equipment to have? And right now, I’ma permanent substitute teacher during 9 months out of the year and give myself a little break in the summer time but I feel like it’s great money to be made and I love being outside. On a scale from 1-10, how highly would you recommend applying? And how long is training usually? Great video

Gym shoes are not recommended in my opinion. Consider the women whose foot practically got cut off due to wearing gym shoes when her tub and another tub collided on the ramp. Having boots would have minimized the injury greatly.

What is the down time between flights you have to load and unload? Or is it one flight after another?
@shqiptari1699
@shqiptari1699 Жыл бұрын
Most of the time you offload the plane then load it straight after for new passengers to board, sometimes there is a gap so you can rest/relax for 30min etc depending on departure times. if it’s a late final plane that comes in you just offload. On average I do about 3 planes a day. It will never be back to back to back of loading/offloading.
@charleyyoung262

Sounds like multiple airlines. I’m assuming he’s gaining the experience as a contractor so that he can eventually go to a mainline airline although it is not required that you have prior experience to work for a mainline although helpful.

Yo is it true that you have to have customers service experience?
@mikelylesstudios
@mikelylesstudios Жыл бұрын
It’s not required but helpful. You do however deal with customers to some degree especially when entering the jet bridge to place bags, strollers, wheelchairs and pets, etc. Sometimes you enter the planes to communicate with passengers that have pets but this is on occasions. I’m not a ramp agent but I did train before realizing it wasn’t for me thus resigning.
