What To Know Moving To Castle Rock Colorado

I grew up in Elizabeth. Back in the day, our town didn’t have anything so Castle Rock is where we would go to do our grocery shopping. My first job was at the outlet mall. Castle Rock has really sprawled out since then.

It definitely has! And now Elizabeth and Franktown are starting to grow as well. Not nearly as fast as Castle Rock, but there are now several connector roads that roll through Franktown and a slow growing interest for new homes in both areas as the Denver Metro area sprawls and people want their own slice of open space.

@@LivinginDenverBillKnapp yes, no stoplights, fast food, supermarkets, or Walmarts for us growing up. We just had Gesin’s (and In and Out). But now Elizabeth has all those things mentioned above but no longer has Gesin’s

Grew up in castle rock in the early 2000s, it was Amazing! I go back now and just get sad how much has been developed. Used to play in plum creek along the meadows subdivision, now its all developed with roads and bridges going over it, real shame.

Urban sprawl has definitely made its way to Colorado, actually been here for a long time if you watch the historical maps of Highlands Ranch, Parker, and Castle Rock all growing towards each other in size. The old creeks may be different, but the City of Castle Rock as worked diligently to provide access to open space, designated outdoor sports fields, etc.

They mess up on there roads going though there downtown

The recent construction has been difficult to navigate through Downtown C.Rock for sure. Hopefully the get everything wrapped up for a streamlined traffic flow b/c Downtown Castle Rock is an amazing place to visit!

The growing urban sprawl is definitely depressing. My beautiful Castle Rock is losing its charm.

The area has grown for sure; but there are still lots of great local spots that I enjoy visiting, and I really appreciate coming down for the Farmers Markets. The downtown area still holds a lot of charm, but it does have a lot of new developments as well. Definitely a favorite area for me!
