They see high damage clips on TikTok and then they think if they can hit that in practice they are good players, but if you can’t open someone up in neutral, who cares if you can do 50 percent combos. Great video! some wonderful stuff here! Only one small observation to make: A micro duck is to avoid a high, not a throw. If someone has been throwing out their high combo starter too much you can predict this and duck the first hit and hit them with your own fast jab in between the first and second hits of their string. You duck for just a couple of frames by tapping the block button, hence the word micro (very small). A throw you just duck, they whiff and you have the entirety of their whiff recovery animation to do whatever you please. Cheers!

That advice you gave to apprentice players about Serena was so true. When I first started playing the game almost a year ago, I too was shackled by the Serena combo extender. Having a combo extension with that kameo is nice and all, but in Mk, thats not only not creative at all, but easily countered. I can't tell you how many new players I've steamrolled in the beginning of the season who used that Serena extension constantly. It was a free rank up essentially.

It's as simple as don't Kameo if you haven't connected the hit. Learn your character and the combo extension follows with any Kameo. Mavado especially.

This. Is. Underrated. Letting go of anger and your ego early, is so essential to get better. I got god rank for the first time last night. When I lose I save the game, and I rewatch a handful of them at the end of the session, and see if I did something unsafe for no reason, did I not fuzzy guard Mileena well, did I not respect plus frame, did I drop combos like a nub? Getting angry at every loss because your ego tells you you’re better than your opponent is the worst way to get better.

The Kara throws to my understanding come from the fact that you can input a throw with 1+3. For that to not be a frame perfect input, you have a few frames after buttons to input a throw and have throw come out instead, and you get to keep the movement during the button.

11:34 they need to adjust that move if you’re even close to the corner you get punished and reset their combo, I think either make it a directional input so you can choose which way you’re pulled and or give full freedom of buttons while you’re being speared, ig making it spear opponent would be cool too but obviously the lesser likely 😂

KL is rigged imo and is a very flawed system to work against you. The higher you get the more they pair you with either far weaker players rank wise or stronger. So if you win vs the weaker you hardly gain, if you lose you will lose points sometimes a decent amount. And if you beat the stronger player you'll gain a good amount but that doesn't happen too often. It rarely pairs you vs someone with similar rank, skill level. The fact that nrs hides exclusive skins behind it is the dumbest idea ever especially when we can't just buy them. Gotta love how they out exclusive shop skins and even the invasion boss skins on the shop but refuse to offer us the KL skins on the shop because that makes sense...but I digress. Appreciate the video.

@Diff Ghostface finally just released here in Ohio where I live about not even a half hour ago by the time I could play him after doing the update and everything so, I am so damn excited I took him for a spin in training mode not to learn combos or anything but, just to get a quick feel for the basic moves and strings and things he has and now I am about to go into Kombat League with him and start the grind properly, as tempting as it is to learn combos, I will save those for last after I master these tips because, combos don’t do me any good if I can open up my opponent properly, I may just learn a easy BNB and commit it to muscle memory with Ghostface just so as I learn some of the fundamental concepts with my character and start getting more openings I can land a good chunk of consistent damage every time

Some characters don’t. Azeez on Twitter has a few characters that have them, but he didn’t go through the entire cast. Type in: “MK1 Kara Throws” into the search bar, and the tweet/video will be from X_AZEEZ3 He’s the only one I know of that’s compiled a bunch into one place - It also is character specific. It usually is based on the kick normals, so either your 3 or 4. Scorpion’s happens to be 3. But confusingly enough a few characters break that rule😅

Serena is absolutely a great kameo bc her combos are simple don’t mean we shouldn’t use her that’s exactly why she SHOULD be used there’s less opportunity to mess up the perfect button presses this game needs for combo extenders. No other fighting games have the needed perfect concise button pressing like this game does

Hey diff I reached to Demi god last season with Nitara but I don’t know how to Kara throw or what are the safe jump setups any tips ? And are there a set of frames or something like that where it guarantees a safe jump with every character?

Moves that knockdown with Hit Advantage of 37 frames or more are good canidates for a safe jumps if it leaves the opponent close or the opponent is cornered. good options are ending combos in her meterless divekick cause it has 46 frames or her 124 (Must Feed) ending combos and then learning the jump timing Nitara has a kara throw but its a little more difficult. You can do it with her f1 (the Broken Nails move) - Nitara is one of the characters where her forward walk speed is good enough that Kara throws arent really worth it I dont play Nitara but a safe jump i just labbed was 1212 launch, j124 cancelled into dive kick. the safe jump worked vs Scorpion wakeup armor. So im sure you could work it into an actual good combo to end Divekick with!

For me the block activates as soon as the trigger is pressed slightly, not just all the way so I stick to block on trigger. I'm God rank incase you need credentials, only top 2000 mmr tho
