Great video! It blows my mind how many Sea-Doos I see for sale on Marketplace with descriptions like “just needs a battery” or “just needs a starter.” I completely agree-if that were really the case, why wouldn’t the seller just spend $100 on a new battery and get more for it? That’s a great point. A few years ago, I bought a higher-hour Spark Trixx and have no regrets. The previous owner kept it well-maintained, had all the records, maintenance logs, and paperwork, and the engine bay was impressively clean for its age. Finding a used jet ski in that condition is like searching for a needle in a haystack these days! Once again, great and informative video-thanks, Jake!

When buying a used ski, I always make it a point to search in areas away from bodies of Saltwater, and then follow all of Jakes advice in the video. 100% accurate, no lies detected info!

Just bought my first used supercharged Sea Doo from a dealer this week. I have previously bought a new one before from them. I appreciate the fact that he disclosed that the unit will need a turbo rebuild/replacement between 200 and 250 hours which is about 2K$. Only 5 hours on it. I know it’s used so you get what you get.

@@paulthompson1216 that’s a great dealer! If it helps, you could always pay them to just check the slip at 200 hours. There are companies that will rebuild them for about $600 so you don’t need to replace them. And the good news is not many need a rebuild at only 200 hours. I’ve worked on plenty with 350+ hours that are still using the same charger.

Dude you should be a supervisor over the mechanics at seadoo because you know what your talking about great info buddy. Also I have the 2017 gtr 230 is there anything you know of should be aware of. It's only done 30hrs and I had it serviced at 25hrs I've had no issues so far what's it like compared to the new model. Cheers

I appreciate that! The 2017 GTR is a solid ski. SeaDoo changed quite a bit on the 2020 generation change but the 2017 is a solid machine. I don't believe there were any common problems on that model!

great video Man how often dose the carbon seal need to be replace just in case they clean the carbon up, also can you rev the engine to over 6000 rpm with water hose plugged in to check for engine fault codes

Thank you! The life of the carbon seal will vary on a range of things. You may be able to go 600+ hours without ever replacing it, or you may need to replace it at 50. The best thing to do is periodically check your hull for excessive carbon dust which would indicate when the seal is end of life. I made a video specifically for the carbon seal so check that out! Also, yes you can briefly rev up to 6000 RPM on the hose. I wouldn't hold it there for long, but a few quick blips is perfectly fine.

That's an air intake I made myself with an Amazon 3" to 4" silicone elbow, 3" PVC coupler and a 4" marine air filter (RK13090-4-SD). You can put the whole thing together for under $100 which will safe you quite a bit from anyone selling air intakes.

@@jakgal041 can you confirm the coupler is 3" and not 4"? It's 3 inches on the supercharger, you used a 3"->4 elbow and the filter is 4". Just wanted to clarify. Thx! Already bought the filter.

@@Hammy60 That's exactly correct yes. The supercharger inlet is 3". Realistically you could just do a 3" elbow but the popular choice is to do a 3" to 4" elbow with a 4 inch filter for better airflow.

Hello, great video, I found a gtx 300 with 4 hours. Only issue I can see is a cat scratched all the rubber decking. Do you know how much it would be to replace it or have an idea? He is asking 16k 2022 is the year. Thanks.

Is it a GTX Limited? And does it come with a trailer? A fully loaded GTX Limited with the trailer is worth about $15,500, a standard GTX 300 is worth ~$13,500. The rubber decking can absolutely be replaced. If you let me know which model exactly I can send some options.

@ limited for sure. Yes comes with a Karavan trailer. Price sounds about right then.

Yup. Combination of a poorly installed factory pump seal which caused cavitation burn and pitting and riding in a river with a ton of floating debris (sticks, bottle caps, etc).
