I’m pretty young and it’s a dream to own a 379 one day my dad always drove them and I’ve loved those trucks ever since. But as a 21 year old when the time comes to introduce myself to my own truck. I’m thinking because of costs it’s cheaper to get a Classic XL. Another truck I do enjoy and I love the 60 series detroits. I’m thinking my first truck I may look into a classic XL some day. Not sure what sites to look for trucks but I’m thinking a classic xl would be a good first truck. I want stick shift I want the hood, and they’re nice and roomy. No exhaust fluid crap. Simpler and nicer.

Greetings fellow trucker, any luck finding the radiator? Mine classic has the same air leak in the cab fan selector, since ftlnr uses air the o lu way to keep it quite is to select def. lol. Looking good bro. Mine is a 2000 too, looking to put it to work soon.

The condition of your antifreeze can tell you of a problem too if there's oil or something in it. What do you think about buying a truck with a warranty and possibly a fresh rebuild? I personally would never buy a truck from a private owner.
@TruckerAK4 жыл бұрын
I'd never buy a new truck , all the Emissions crap is a waste of money it can bankrupt you
@kellywhite16634 жыл бұрын
@@TruckerAK I'm not talking about a new truck I'm talking about used ones I've seen in truck papers and whatnot, big companies will trade in their used fleets of them at a time they'll be on the market, I think I've seen like Arrow Sales and any dealers probably have them, get a warranty and at least you have that piece of mind.
@azcactusflower14 жыл бұрын
@@kellywhite1663 Unfortunately 3rd party warranties have too many loopholes to protect them. Don't let the salesmen "verbally" tell you otherwise; read the small print. Your greatest asset would be an oil sample, although many shops change the oil to hide any issues. A small dealership that has a trusted following...just have to find them
@kellywhite16634 жыл бұрын
@@azcactusflower1 Yeah I eat salesmen for breakfast, I've been around the block a few times, I buy my own equipment with my own money, I don't use other people's money, I'm too old for that scene.

A mechanic who goes with you for $20 $30? Good luck.
@powshredder37164 жыл бұрын
first and foremost bring a mechanic , it will cost you hundreds, not "30 bucks" christ.
@TruckerAK4 жыл бұрын
If someone charges you hundreds to go help you “LOOK” at truck they aren’t the right person to help you out and it’s time to find someone else it’s not like they are working on the truck. Like compensating someone for their time is the least you can do.

@@TruckerAK I'm not taking a buddy there to stroke my cock , Im taking a professional mechanic to save me thousands in repairs. When buying a truck that's over 100 grand. hundreds are nothing. You have a lot of learning to do youngin.
@TruckerAK4 жыл бұрын
If you buying a truck over 100 thousand dollars I’d hope It’d be a new truck lol I mean you just have to meet mechanics at your local Freightliner / Truck Dealerships that are certified that’s what I did and if I have any question I call them up for advice. Anybody can do that and you just slide them some money and thank them for the help. I might be a newer driver to some yeah but I know my way around saving money and getting things done right
