Hello Guys! I'm back with a few essential things that you need to pack before moving to Edinburgh (UK). As I said in the video below is the process of preserving curry leaves:

Step 1: wash curry leaves appropriately.
Step 2: Dry the curry leaves inside the house for 2-3 days (not in sunlight).
Step 3: After a couple of days, curry leaves becomes very dry, and they are ready to pack.
Step 4: Store them in zip lock bags.
These stay fresh for very, very long...

I have lived in UK since 1968, came here as a newly married. I would like to add a couple of suggestions here: If you bring a pressure cooker made in India, the handles will break, you won’t get parts. I made this mistake decades ago. If you must bring one from India, buy Prestige cooker. It will last you longer, and you will get the ring, valve etc from Amazon You mentioned that bathing items (toiletries) are expensive here, and you buy from Body Shop. No wonder you find them expensive! I can’t afford to buy anything from there. Buy from Superdrug or Boots, the items are often on sale or at a reduced price. There are many shops like Poundland where you can food, toiletries, stationery and other items for £1. Please, please, do not covert £ into Rs every time you go into a shop. You are not going to spend Rs here, so no point. I understand that for the overseas students, money is a major issue, but the living expenses can be cut down if you shop around. For the supermarket shopping, go to Aldi and Lidl. I don’t like spices in India, I go there often but never bring any. In India, there is no quality control or legal regulations. Indian shops in UK must sell the top quality of goods, or the shopkeepers get fined. I don’t check the daals or rice for stones or debris, no need, you won’t find any. So yes, spices are expensive, but you get what you pay for. If you are cooking, use ‘English’ veg like courgettes in place of dudhi. Brussels sprouts, frozen runner beans, peas, corn etc. You may find that making dahin at home is difficult, I haven’t mastered it yet😩. Buy from a supermarket. Make pasta sauce, using tinned chopped tomatoes, onions, garlic and dried oregano. Much better in taste than a bottled one. To all of you who are here or planning to study in UK, I hope you achieve success and enjoy your stay.

Pls try air india. It allows at least 23 + 23 + 7kg + laptop. Qatar allows only 23 + 7 and in that 7 kg u must accommodate your laptop. PLS check if they allow any extra allowance to students because jet Airways used to allow 28 +28 + 7 kg.

Spice jet has secured slots for Heathrow Airport this month. Also check with them what allowance they allow as it is a budget airline so may offer cheap tickets 🎟.

well you can carry all those but make sure those things are leaking.they won't ask you but in worst case they might ask you what it is! however they will allow them.

It depends on new and old book if those are used book i think there wont be any problem but if they are new they might think you are taking them to sell there and customs might stop once make sure with airlines

If you're coming from India then pls don't bring any dairy products in the UK or any meat. You can however bring baby 🤱 milk 🥛 but no other dairy or meat in the UK. If you smoke then no more than 200 cigarettes. Pls note it's 200 cigarettes in total and not 200 sleeves.

They are the circular rubber structures that seal the cooker. Just like any car engine gasket, they prevent the leakage and maintains pressure.
