Another suggestion is to bring a compact first-aid kit. On one of my cruises on Carnival, I cut my finger and I thought I could get one free band-aid from the ship's infirmary but I was forced to buy a $3 mini-pack that had a few band-aids and two ointment packs. You can make your own first-aid kit at home or buy one already made at a 99 Cent Only Store.

Either way is good. I would prefer carryon because you can fill it up and use it right away. Have fun cruising.
