What To Paint, When You Don’t Know What To Paint

Painting this lure took WAY too long! When long days followed by short nights begin to stack up, I find creativity is the first thing to suffer. Getting over that barrier can feel insurmountable at times so this video is just my two cents to maybe help somebody get past their barrier. Enjoy!

When I have a mental block I'll look up tropical fish or antique lures and pick one to paint.

Where do you get your rattle baits from?

AliExpress mostly. In the past I’ve purchased a few off the shelf when they go on sale and repaint them. This one is from AliExpress

Do you have the link for these? How is the performance compared to the Rip n Rap?

Performance is good, it’s a more narrow body than a rip n rap so it needs a bit more speed to get the same action. I like them for calling fish into your area on the ice. The link I used no longer has them available. I found another supplier, but I haven’t ordered from them, and honestly I think this one is over priced. Why is your airbrush splattering the paint so bad? I'd say it needs to be cleaned or the air is turned down to far. Was it planned? Looks like a bad Chinese waterside print in a way.

I had to watch it again, then went to look at the lure again. You’re right, it does look splattery, the main video file doesn’t show it the same way it shows on KZbin….weird. I appreciate the heads up though. And I do typically run on the lower side of psi-but it changes from paint brand to paint brand.
