Hello, I lost my job for Covid few months ago. Im planning to leave Canada for few years for personal reason.I am a Canadian citizen. My condo is 100000, I already paid 30000. My mortgage (500) + Condo fee (500) =1000 per month. So here's my question. There's a non resident tax of 25% of rental property income this property management company will be charging me if I leave Canada. So 250 dollar goes to them as tax from my 1000 rent that Im planning. The thing is 1000 is NOT my rental income. My net income will be around 200 to 300 dollars after deducting 500 condo fee, around 300/200 ish mortgage interest. So my question is how do CRA calculate 25% tax on non residents. Thanks. Will really appreciate YOUR input.

@@LifeInCanada yes... it seems so because I have looked at some online and they look really good and too you are not completely alone because other guests might be around. Just a nice way to live until settled..... love this idea.

No you don't. In most places it's illegal. There's usually at least one or two month rent for deposit
