After access cavity preparation, with the help of a 10 or 15 size K file, the full length of the canals should be reached before using rotary instrumentation or even before ant canal enlargement. This process of reaching the full length of the root canals with a small endodontic file is called as canal negotiation. Thank you

With periapical radiolucency you'll have to do multiple visits and place intracanal medicament like calcium hydroxide in between the visits

Good things to think about. As another diagnostic technique, adding a CT scan of the suspect area, even a small area CT, helps immensely to identify abnormalities. Gaining three dimensional imaging of teeth, roots, canals and bone is a huge diagnostic advantage
