ignoring the joke statement; the point is to reduce the things you are overthinking so you focus your brain entirely in a constructive direction. by not micromanaging your aim, your brain's reflexes take over and control your arm better with your subconscious, leaving the decision making out of the way of what you are actually able to do.

I’m surprised how accurately he described something that happens within milliseconds.

I feel like this tracking advice is really misleading and will hurt people's aim. You suggest that they pay attention to their cursor, but you'll find that you're going to either not predict their movement enough and your bullets will often go behind the target, or you'll over predict and miss like 5 bullets when they change direction. A better way to improve your tracking aim is to watch your enemy exclusively and not look at your cursor/crosshair at all. This intense focus on a target and following them slowly with your eyes is called "smooth pursuit". It's the same type of eye movement used in reading for example. The goal is to watch the enemy and allow your muscle memory to follow them on it's own, as long as you're watching them with a smooth pursuit eye movement you'll keep them in the center of your screen and track them perfectly with zero prediction required. If this prediction/reaction style is how you actually approach tracking, then you're a genetic god for being able to track with that style so well. But it is not the best way to do it and is not an approach to improve quickly. This level of reaction and prediction to get a professional level of tracking with this style requires naturally very good reaction times and thousands of extra hours of play to learn how to predict every character's movement patterns in every area of every map. Improving your smooth pursuit eye movement will DRAMATICALLY and RAPIDLY increase your tracking aim in every fps game with any character or gun that depends on tracking. In this sense it is universal aim improvement unlike your prediction/reaction methodology. You can do specific eye exercises to help this type of eye movement and your overall ability to focus. You want to imagine it like reading, you should be able to make out the color of everything the character you're looking at is wearing, their gun, how their legs/arms/head/etc. are moving at every moment the same way you can make out every letter as you read. Peer reviewed studies have shown this type of eye movement in humans and apes to be dramatically increased also when using hand movement to follow what they are tracking, which ties in with aiming perfectly. If done properly you should be able to track people equally well with no crosshair enabled at all. And disabling your crosshair completely when training this type of eye movement is a great way to help at first if you struggle with tunnel visioning on your crosshair instead of truly seeing and watching the character you're shooting at. Crosshairs are really only important for flick shotting as a measurement reference point that your eyes use to quickly guage how much arm/wrist movement your muscle memory needs to snap onto a target.

Never figured out if I'm an arm or wrist aimer. Unless I'm using über high sensitivity, I'm almost always using both. Use arm to get into the general direction (or snap on if lucky) then use wrist to correct. This happens almost at the same time (not exactly of course, as you explained you'll get sensor-drift basically ;p). Also for me it was the exact opposite: I can flick with the wrist, quite well, but tracking in general is much, much smoother and more controlled when using the arm (only using wrist when correction is needed). That's just me though. Love the video and a big fan :D EDIT: I think my sensitivity makes me use both: I'm generally between 35-43cm/360

10:38 Holy shit yeah that is litterally everything even tracking if you're not on them you shouldn't really be clicking. I think the build up talking about Osu is what actually convinced me to commit to actually aiming like this. This is why better players don't benefit as much from high refresh rate monitors and better systems as the latency just doesn't matter as much, although the latency CONSISTENCY will probably still matter a lot. Also the tracer insight is basic but new to me - get close for damage - blink away/to cover to reload. Kinda play like reaper where you just sneak in close at an off angle or behind, then use cooldowns as escape tools/for flanking/sustain if you have heals.

Another important detail is arm aim is good for hitscan heroes and wrist aim may be better for projectile heroes like genji for example because 180 dashing is a really important skill to master with genji and high sens and wrist flicks makes turning faster. But nonetheless it's better to stick to one sensitivity for all heroes.
@SuperStarkiller9996 жыл бұрын
I am a wrist aimer and hitscan player, thats why I always get accused of cheating cause the cam seems like its shaking.
@sejo50576 жыл бұрын
MainUkraine I think arm aim is better for flicking. I am a wrist player but I always flick with my arm because it's a lot easier. I have to swipe twice if I'm using my wrist but with my arm I just do a full swipe. I find wrist more accurate when making small crosshair adjustments which is why I use my wrist since you won't need to flick must of the time if you have good crosshair placement.
@MainUkraine6 жыл бұрын
@@SuperStarkiller999 I think that could just be you shaking your mouse because I used to be a wrist aimer playing with 12,000 dpi and 2 sens and only a few months ago I went down to 1,600 dpi and 2 sens to arm aim but when I was at 12,000 dpi I never looked shaky in first person.
@MainUkraine6 жыл бұрын
@@sejo5057 Yea one thing that's important that Surefour doesn't really mention is that tracking and prediction can help you with hitscan heroes not just projectile. Understanding patterns of enemy movement and tracking them helps you land those easy headshots with widow and mccree much easier. This is especially the case when an enemy is locked in one movement direction like a strafe jump because you can hit the head easily on the peak of the jump or by predicting the trajectory on the way down. Some pros like pine play with high sens and flick using wrist aim and do great on widow too although the majority of pros play on low to very low sens.

My 3 main takeaways: 1. "When you're trying to shoot, don't think about where your crosshair is, think about WHEN you need to click. You're the one telling your crosshair when you want to click, not them telling you." I need to drill this into my head because I'm always clicking when my crosshair is no where near my target. 2. When A-D strafing, add a crouch here and there to form an upside down "V" or a skewed "N" but don't just tap the crouch button, hold it for a little bit longer to really get the benefit of your opponent missing their shots. I usually just get headshotted by Widows because I tap crouch for a split second and my head ends up back where it was less than 0.1 seconds ago. 3. When up against projectile Heroes like Hanzo, predict when he will shoot and go in the opposite direction right before he does. A-D strafe for longer but not too long to become too predictable and for the love of god NEVER EVER jump! This applies even to Widow, you'll end up in a predictable movement path and get headshotted. I'm guilty of this sometimes and I mean I main Hanzo so you'd think I would actually never do this but I still do against other Hanzos 😂
