I totally agree that it may not be necessary to physically kneel but I feel like I must humble myself in God's Presence out of reverence and gratitude for all the unmerited, undeserved favor He has extended to me, cause,if you only knew just how wicked and evil fight was even to the point of cursing God out loud in the middle of the street in Brooklyn because things were not going according to my plan. His love is so great toward us it's almost impossible to comprehend!

Hi Rabbi. I am a Christian woman and I am bipolar type 2. I really struggle with my prayers, because I am trying to consistently get closer to God and Jesus Christ. I feel like I am just taking to the ceiling and I believe that God exists and that Jesus is the Son of God. I love them so much for what they have done for me. A person can be on their knees and they can get up with the same unclean heart. There must be a Clean Heart! It's just like Baptism! It is an Outer Expression of an Inner Grace/ The ❤. I absolutely agree. I remember a day when I felt like building farmhouse furniture and that desire was placed in me. I told my wife at the time that I all of the sudden wanted to do work working. Not too much longer the knowledge and wisdom was placed in me and my business quickly prospered. I had to stop taking orders because I was falling behind 😂. How about healing my wife of multiple sclerosis who cannot walk and screams everyday in pain from associated health problems; or my son whose life at 22 years old was hijacked because he was prescribed opiates to which he became addicted and today suffers pain because of having been prescribed methadone, which made him more sensitive to the pain of chronic conditions with which he now has been diagnosed? They both say they want to die; I've been praying for them to be healed, for decades. "What man would give his son a stone who asks for a loaf of bread, or a serpent to one who asks for a fish? How much more does your heavenly Father want to give good things to those who ask." So why hasn't He? I'm not asking for a Maserati. I am asking in accordance with this: "Ask anything in my name and I will do it that the Father may be glorified by the Son". This has not been my experience. At all.

Remember when Jesus was praying in the Garden? He asked God the Father if it is HIS WILL that "this cup" pass from me, not Hey, I don't want to really do this because I'm afraid now of it and I think that means you don't want me to do this, no he prayed If it was the Father's WILL then let this cup pass from me. Why? Because that is what Paul is saying in those verses that we are to pray according to God's Will. In other words, we should always use the phrase, "If it is your will God that [FILL IN THE BLANK}" when we are requesting something of him. Like another writer of the Bible, I think it was James, but he said something similar, in that we shouldn't say to ourselves I will do such and such in 5 years, but instead to pray, if it is God's will that I do such and such in 5 years then let it be so. Because we always want something from God. Solomon was told since you sought me(The Living God) first and wisdom, then all these things that you didn't ask for will be added to you. David said if you will be obedient to God first, then he will fulfill the desires of your heart. So, if you are obedient and you ask the Father if it is his will that you have a fancy car then believe that whatever you ask for in Jesus' name will be given to you. God didn't find it unholy to make Abraham rich. He did not find it unholy to make David Rich. He did not find it unholy to make Solomon more richer than all of them. Being rich is not an offensive action. What you do with your money may be offensive, such as Solomon and his wives, concubines and their other gods. Such as David and his adulterous plot against Bathsheba's husband, which included covetousness, lust, adultery and murder, but God forgave David when David repented. Yet he made Elijah, who had more Holy Spirit than they a pauper who lived in a cave, because his life was continually sought by Jezebel and Ahab.
