Hi Julie. I liked the green dress with tan or black accessories if the weather is nice but also liked the navy trousers with the white blouse, a necklace and the white trainers if the weather doesn’t play ball. The main thing is to relax in whatever you choose and enjoy being a proud mum🙂xx

I would go for the Green dress. It just looks a lot smarter. I went to my sons graduation a few years ago for his phd and most of the ladies there were wearing dresses. Have a lovely time.

If you got problems with your knees stick to trainers. I love the black trousers on you. You will decide what you want to wear. I loved the green dress but I think black accessories are too heavy with it Julie! My favourite outfit is definitely the navy trousers and I think white trainers are perfectly acceptable as long as they are not scruffy and marked which yours aren’t (No one will be looking at your feet lol)! It will spoil your day if you’re in pain and it’s a really special day for you all! Have a fabulous time and take lots of photos! Xx

Hi Julie, although I think you look lovely in the red dress and you look lovely in the navy trousers and white blouse as well, my favourite is the green dress with the tan accessories, maybe try it on with the black jacket if you don’t feel warm enough. My tip for the jacket, if you fasten it, don’t fasten the top and bottom buttons it makes your body look longer, just my personal style tip 😊. I turned 60 this year and have finally accepted that much as I love the idea of a dress actually I look better and am more comfortable in trousers. I am not letting myself or others talk me in dresses anymore 😁

Navy trousers, white top, trainers all day long! 👍 You looked terrific in this outfit, also much happier. 😗👌 Trainers are really no longer considered to be exclusively casual and lets face it - your feet will thank you. To be honest I think you can carry off any outfit as long as you wear it with chutzpah and an air of confidence. So I would say wear your trousers and trainers because you will be happy and comfortable all day, which means you will enjoy your son's graduation and your proud mum moment much more! Xxx

Hi Julie, they all looked good on you. I preferred the black outfit and the navy trousers and white blouse. I was given a wrap for my birthday last year, it’s from John Lewis, oatmeal colour and cashmere. I have worn it to death, as a proper scarf last winter, on a long plane journey if it’s chilly, and mostly when I just don’t want to lug a jacket or cardigan around with me, but need something go to keep a chill off. Can highly recommend and it takes care of what jacket/cardigan to wear, particularly if you get one in a neutral colour. Not sure if John Lewis are still doing them, they aren’t cheap but 100% worth the investment in my view. Just a suggestion. Hope you enjoy the day, I enjoy all your videos. Helen

The green patterned dress looks beautiful with the tan sandals. I would buy an off white denim jacket to wear with it. You would get a lot of wear from it afterwards. The trousers don't really say dressy or special occasion. My average work wardrobe. Hope I am helping. I had terrible trouble with shoes until I bought a pair of Fly London shoes on Ebay. They were such a revelation I sold my other shoes on Ebay and bought more Fly London which are the only shoes and boots I wear now. Have a wonderful time with your son. Take care. Wendy

The green dress is lovely but only if the weather is warm. My choice is the same as yours, navy trousers and either of the tops. The trainers look fine too. Good luck in choosing. Xx

I understand your dilemma. You want to feel good in yourself for such an important occasion, being a proud Mum. If luggage is no problem, I would consider taking two outfits to cope with either a sunny or a dull, rainy day. Hopefully being able to combine the bag and shoes. I preferred the white blouse with the trousers. I think you would be most comfortable in the navy trousers and white blouse with a necklace, bracelet etc. The green dress looked smart, if too thin an outfit for the weather, probably take a thin vest top/camisole for underneath - white or green showing at the bottom of the V would look ok. If chilly, a jacket draped on your shoulders would look less ‘heavy’ than actually wearing it. I always do my hair as planned, and get made up to try on clothes, as I think it makes me feel better deciding on the outfit - but perhaps that how my mind works. I hope you find something you feel is suitable and are happy in. Your son will be thrilled that you are there to share his success whatever you are wearing! Don’t men have much less of a problem choosing clothes! Enjoy the day.

The green dress with tan accessories. Most graduations i have seen have ladies in smart but casual summer dresse suit styles are too formal, not summery enough and are a bit bland and not many wear them to graduations. That was more 2000 s style. Plus it makes you look like you made more of an effort, than just throwing on a suit look. That green dress is very smart but elegant and can be dressed up or down with or without scarves and the right accessories. It can look nice with a white linen kacket or green jacket if you have one or a light wool cardigan if it gets cooler later on. Tan or white accessories. The dress really suits you (not saying the suit styles dont). Also its what you feel at ease in that matters too, as you dont want to be self conscious with thinking about your outfit. Clothes should be effortless, if you feel less than comfortable then the style is usually not for you. Avoid big jewellery, big heels and too flat shoes can look too frumpy for an occasion. Wear your shoes in for a day around the house ive lost count how many times i got blisters before i learned the hard way. Hope this helps❤ Gill
