Totally with you on the brown belt/black boots thing. But there are exceptions in my opinion. For example, if I'm wearing blue jeans, belt and and boots need to match (and in my opinion brown looks better than black with blue jeans). But say I'm wearing black jeans, and a black shirt, I could make a black belt work with brown boots, especially a darker brown and even better if you have a brown hat. Just my two cents.

My uncle passed away not long ago and was a genuine cowboy. I was blessed to get a pair of his boots, but I will keep them as a keepsake and not to wear. With that said, I will be looking for similar style of boots and honestly had no idea that boots and buckles went hand in hand. I know this was filmed a good while back now and you might have got a belt that fits it snug by now. But if not the buckle that was inconveniently popping opening could probably be fixed by taking it to metal worker who should be able ether add some leangh by soldering or perhaps even smooth down that little circular nub at the bootom of the prod creating that extra length needed that way...i know its a lot off carry on over a belt buckle but since it came from youre dad i thought it might be worth a mention, all the best cowboy. 👍

Go to a boot repair store and get them to remove the stitching, then have them to put snaps on it. Makes it easier to change out belt buckles. Or do it yourself. It's easy and cheap to do.

It's always been the #1 rule. Your shoes/boots must match the belt. Even a 3 piece suit requires them to match. Brown boots and brown belt. Black boots and black belt. Blue boots and blue belt. Go to Men's Warehouse with a mismatched look and they will make you buy 1 or the other.

Question...probably a stupid question.... When it comes to sizing for a belt buckle. What does everyone else do? I got the correct size belt with the snaps so I can switch em out, but the holes aren't lining up with the new buckle. Sometimes my buckles will need to be placed in different holes on the same belt. That's because some buckles are longer than others. If you don't have an extra belt hole to spare you might need to get a different belt for that buckle.

Problem is getting that handgun on target as soon as you can, without struggling to pull your jeans up to reach it, or /and giving yourself away doing it. Galco makes some fine leather holster belts, (at a price), that will support the weight of a "Compact" semi auto these days, but with time, they tend to sag, and take a different shape. This is were "Functionality" rules over "Style"....at least to me. Those buckles can pull away when you pull a handgun, as much as I like them. :)

@@JeremiahCraig They used to be really popular when I was growing up. Some had buckles with their name too but usually a classic bull skull, bronco horse or bull buckle. I got boots ,hat, and shirts. I just need a true western belt. I did order a cool bolo tie. It's a cowboy hat and the tassel ends of the leather are cowboy boots.

Texas Saddlery has some really gorgeous belts with clips, my current favorite is walnut roughout with walnut buckstitch. Otherwise, there’s really no gender to belts as long as it fits!

Just to let you know, Black harness boots works well with brown belts but looks perfect with black belts, also black suede chukkas looks great with brown belts and blue jeans, but the rule here (the shirt has to be black) to make it work ;)
