Monday. 25 November. After 3 years of busted bits,. Our channel, much physiotherapy. Just on first opal. Thank you so much for this. Doing hand therapy, etc. Hand bent, but it is Learning! No other option. Yes. Went gung ho! Just Learning how to drive hands, rocks. Guestimate own ability. Rome wasn't built in a day.

You'll get there. Take it slow and go go go. If I come back to dimmy any time soon I'll have to do an in person lesson.

Wouldn't mind finding out more about diamond pastes. Just something that never seemed to turn up in vids. I didn't think to ask, until I saw the tubes. Just a thought. Thanks Roy.

They are okay, really good for harder on the mohs scale stones but for opal they are more expensive and dont perform as well as the chemical effect of metal oxides.

@RoysRocks Thanks Roy. That just hit the nail square on the head for me. What's coming our way? Was a bit warm here today. A few fires around. Bet from harvest. Some in Edenhope, Barrow, Grampians. Usual stuff. Wind changed and spread them a bit. Supposed to be 38 again tomorrow. Still got a years water in dam, but had to buy another pump. Now intake hose is to short! Need another length of it! It has dropped 60 cm in 3 months. Windy as #^@!€£$= bit of breeze! Deciding whether to pull swag out n sleep in yard tonight!Just Dimmy. LOL. Have a silversmith? in town. Going to check her out. Looked in window. I am keeping my judgement until I see her stuff. Let's say that I'm not exactly impressed by bulk buys in window as an example of quality. Personal opinion only. If gut says check, trust yourself first.

1:49 that is actually also a loupe(or eye loupe), turn it around and put it in your eye socket, how it's meant to be used.

Yeah I think people call them eye glasses around here.

One thing I've found surprising that I've used a lot more than expected are the sandpaper rolls. It might but be the cost that puts me more towards them compared to the nova points but they're honestly still great
@RoysRocks

Yeah I have used them more in the last month than the novas.

Nice setup. I have all of the basics you showed. My daughter got me a really nice craft organizer box that allows me to separate and organize my tools. I’m notorious for losing things even when I’m holding them in my hand. This box is a lifesaver. That is as long as I put my things back in the box. 😂

I really should do that. These before the video were just everywhere I just keep them off screen. Outside the frame of the camera is total chaos.

@@nancycurtis7315 that’s hysterical. How long did you search before you found them? My kids are forever laughing at me. I typically find stuff after I’ve gone out and bought another one or the kids walk over, pick it up and hand it to me.

@bbisyy4u 3 weeks. I bought berries to make corial at home. Just put the whole box in freezer, complete with keys. Found them a month later, when got around to make it! Thank goodness for spare set! I have special skills!

I had the same experience when I started with silversmithing. Was unclear what tools I should buy. Still tweaking things like torch and flux. I took a bezel making course and learned with acetylene. At home, first tried butane torch. Not enough heat except for really small things. Next tried propane. Not as good as acetylene, but OK. Now trying oxy-propane with an inexpensive brazing torch. Works great but I suspect the small O2 canister will get used up too quickly. In the end, I suspect that I'll break down and go with acetylene. A bit pricey to get started. Need to buy torch, refillable tank, acetylene gas, regulator, and 2 flash back arrestors.

I have been contemplating using oxy-hydrogen since I make it at work everyday. But then it feels too much like work.
