What Toronto Maple Leafs can expect to change under Craig Berube

Iam a Born Winnipeger and the Jets S**T the Bed every Playoffs as well & Never Won the Cup! But I can say with Pride our Fans and Media DON’T BASH the Team like Toronto does EVERY BLOODY YEAR! Even if they ONLY miss 1 or 2 games at their work place after playing 82 Regular Season Games and a first round 7 full game series they get RAGGED ON! How many SICK WORK DAYS in a Year have all of us missed at our Job?

The problem with Keefe was when it came time to hold players accountable. Keefe was the guy of a thousand chances. I think the term he used was 'pattern of behavior'. Zero is the number of times it is acceptable for the team to get a too many men penalty because a guy slowly glided back to the bench. Zero is the number of times it is acceptable for a Leafs forward to let his man go and slowly coast back to the Leafs end when the puck goes back up the ice. Not a hundred chances and punish him when it results in an egregious goal against. Marner may have trouble with Berube. The guy who was co-captain of the London Knights. The guy who was walking into Dale Hunter's office to discuss team issues on a regular basis. IDK, maybe you guys don't know who Dale Hunter is. Or maybe you might not know that Marner played for Hunter. Anyway he did. Moving on, KZbin if full of videos of Hunter in action. You might even see a couple with Berube and Hunter on the ice together. Maybe you should watch some of them and you might realize who is the guy on the Leafs who is most experienced in with dealing with a guy like Berube. Ah yes, there is the other shoe, now we come to the idea that Marner has to take tens of millions less to appease the fanbase and bail the team out of its salary cap problems. Where was "prove I am a team guy" when Matthews wanted to be the highest paid player in the league? Where was it twice, when Nylander demanded to be paid more than Pastrnak? Why don't they have to prove they are team guys? "I didn't live up to my last contract." And Matthews did? At the time he signed his new contract the Leafs had paid him 11.6 million for zero goals in four game sevens. Zero in five all or nothing games, if you count game five against the Blue Jackets. Zero goals in his last five playoff games. He now has a single goal in his last ten playoff games. He has never scored in a game seven. Well, if that was the standard, where were the demands that Matthews take less? Matthews has shown leadership. OK, why is the team better when Matthews is in the press box than when he is playing in the games? That doesn't seem like leadership. Perimeter play, that is a fair criticism. Anyway, I am back to hoping they are able to trade Marner. I think it will be interesting to see what his playoffs look like with a different coach on a different team. The endless speculation about where he will go passes the time as well.

Only way Mitch stays... is if he takes a cut, or signs for the same $$$.
