It’s funny to me how Izzy said that the war is not over. That Alex may have won the battle but not the war. I honestly think if they fight 50 times and Izzy finally wins one match he will come out and say “I won the war” that’s how delusional he is

You have no appreciation for the position Izzy is in. What's he supposed to say. "Alex has got my number, I don't know how I can beat him". He's got to keep his stock and confidence up. There is no use stepping in the ring without confidence you can win, "deluded" or not. So he has to market the fight in front of fans by exuding confidence he can get it done. The next fight will be great. It will truly be, do or die for Izzy.

if they just have Alex continue to work on takedown defense and defensive grappling overall, he is already a kickboxing legend so gonna be very hard to beat. Of course he has a deficit w the grappling but he got taken down in three UFC fights now, got back up and won all 3, two by KO. And we all know what happened when he fought Strickland, who dared to try to stand with Alex. First round KO.
@KingdomOfDimensions

Honestly best case scenario for Alex is he gets an immediate rematch with Izzy. That would give him time to keep working on his grappling with Teixeira. Then if he wins and he fights the winner of Whittaker vs Costa he'd have a step up in grappling challenge but not to the highest level. That'd give Pereira another year to work on his grappling before fighting a pure wrestler like Khamzat or Bo. If that happens he could be champ for a while.

I saw the match between Adesanya and Pereira. Yes Adesanya is a better in terms of offense, has a better ground game, and more experienced inside the cage. But Pereira is also a good striker, a 2 division champion in Glory MMA, he has knock out power with both hands which is far devastating than what Adesanya possess, Alex is very tough some fighters could have gone down when hit the way he did but he refuses to go down instead it motivated him more to finish Adesanya. Also one thing Alex is more focus and hungrier than Israel. Alex is also taller and has more muscle mass than Israel, I think that also play an important part during the fight since Israel is not always exposed in fighting bigger opponents and since they have fought twice in the past already Alex team did their homework better than Israel's team, Alex team gave him the best program leading to the fight.

Not rly, Alex is better in offensively, Adesanya, most of the times, is a Counter Attack fighter, and he is awesome into that. 2 mistake: Alex isn't taller, they are both same height and in fact Adesanya have 2cm more than Alex in wingspread. In the end, Alex is thougher, more focused and better than Adesanya, and deep down Adesanya knows it.

Volk is so wrong. Izzy didn’t get caught. Alex broke Izzy down and then finished him. Alex got caught in the first round(he was winning the round until then), clearly won the 2nd and Izzy got lucky with the reversal(not even a real takedown) in the 3rd , which made Alex gassed for the 4th. Alex is just better than Izzy.

I think that the takedown is giving ppl a false sense of his abilities. He wasn't game planning Izzy taking him down. I don't think Whitaker gets him down and possibly gets kod. Alex would fight tall and long. The power is twice or even more of Izzy... would be a bad night for Robert.

Many fighters will exploit Alex ground game and I know he's team knows this already. It would be great to see an Alex Periera Version 2.0, a Poatan with a ground game. Remember the great George St. Pierre who at first is a pure striker but developed his ground game and became a welter weight king for a long time and even became a one time middle weight by beating Michael Bisping. If Alex develops his ground game and utilize it effectively then it would be years before someone could beat him or when he is at the twilight of his career maybe close or after 40 years old.
