See, as a guy, this really needs to be taught across all schools. It's our bodies and if we normalize learning about sex ed for both genders, we can greatly benefit from easing anxiety and confusion especially for teenagers who are undergoing changes of their bodies.

@💞Miss_Izzy💞 that is my point, black girls can be taught basic midwifery techniques at a young age,but the imperialist and capitalist system you are under, they want to give the insecure man his chance to touch women as a quack called a female reproductive organ doctor as if a man knows what it's like to go through it physically. It is so stupid that if a girl gets a genital issue, she has to drive to the hospital and look for a man who was given the practical skills by politics of sympathy for insecure boys, calling themselves physicians and hoarding the laboratory research to themselves as so called Professors as if everyone else can't physically sense or experience existence.

I had a pretty heavy discharge at 65 and felt perfectly fine. It wasn’t for a long period of time, and I thought it would go away. I went to the Dr. On another matter she said it was time for a Pap test. A week later, my life changed. I had endometrial cancer, with no symptoms whatever, other than this discharge. My life was saved, but it was pure luck. I was late stage three. After chemo, radiation, it has now been over 5 years. So don’t ignore anything unusual about your body, whether you feel fine or not. Hope this saves someone’s life!

It’s perfectly normal to have discharge in your underwear everyday as well, it gets obnoxious but it’s normal, it’s also normal for the discharge to be high in acidity which will basically bleach your underwear so don’t be scared or ashamed about that at all either, it happens to all of us women.💜

I think if the discharge smells like rotten egg shouldn't take a rocket science to know they need to run to the doctor. Normally discharge will never smell like "rotten eggs" regardless what you eat, age, durning sex etc. I say this because my ex coworker has ovarian cancer (don't know what stage she never mentioned) I sat next to her at work the smell just like rotten eggs. Unbearable odor.

I think it’s just as important for women to know what “normal” or regular discharge looks like, only ever pointing out discharge that is the sign of something wrong is problematic. Normal discharge can be a variety of different colours and odour considered normal depending on where a woman is a in their cycle. Some brown discharge can happen for days after a period, some times when a woman is ovulating the discharge is sticky and like clear jello. Sometimes normal discharge is white and not quite cottage cheese but similar to what this video deemed as discharge indicative of a yeast infection. Odour also changes and we need to become more specific about what fishy smells like, because not every one knows what that means. Is the pungent or mild, is it sour or neutral smelling. These are much more consistent with reality than what all of these KZbin videos show. Also depending on where you’re from and whether or not you smoke, your discharge will be different because of what your body is receiving. Women’s vaginal health is greatly affected by not only sugar but by smoking, antibiotics, wheat/grains, fabric in contact with the vagina and most importantly saliva and fluids from sex and the exchange of sexual fluids. We need to get better a describing the range of things in a woman’s environment that naturally affect vaginal discharge and discuss more how often a woman’s discharge changes throughout their cycle and from their 20’s to their 30’s to their 40’s and so on. Let’s please stop talking about all the indications of diseased discharge it’s toxic, misogynistic and doesn’t at all inform women about what they should expect everyday. As a woman myself I can tell you how many times I have questioned if my normal discharge is in fact normal, because no one talks about it… let’s do better “Healthy Magazine”/KZbin discharge videos, this is not good enough.
@sandraamarie
@sandraamarie 2 жыл бұрын
@@krystalfukinmarie757 thanks. It make me sad really… It is such a shame how much we normalize speaking about how “gross” the vagina is, but no one wants to speak to women about what IS normal. Vaginas are amazing and delicate and complicated and having one for my whole life has been quite difficult to navigate all by myself. I wish we could talk about the everyday and not only when something is “off”. And the word “fishy” needs to go. Comparing our anatomy to dead fish is what has been giving the vagina a bad rap for ages.

This barely talked about the normal discharge changes during cycles. This is super important it should be taught to everyone especially people with vaginas. I thought I would just say here that it was nice that the video emphasized smell as being an important element in understanding discharge. I know probably a lot of guys will be turds about it, but in my mind it's important to bring up too. We are animals and smell is a very important and often ignored or trivialized sense. It can also be the sense that most people have anxiety over. Whether it's a fart, BO, or some other bodily odor, it can be something we worry a lot about. I'm just going to state something that is true about people that most people will deny. When we touch our genitalia, we typically smell our fingers afterward. Male or female, it is true. It is an instinctual way of gauging our bodily health. I had a partner who would become terribly embarrassed if I saw her doing this. I would simply tell her I thought it was a normal thing to do, but she just couldn't get over being embarrassed by it, so I would have to pretend not to notice. If a guy tries to say he doesn't do it, he's lying. We all do. Also, it's normal to have some smell. Part of sexuality and arousal is highly intertwined with pheromones. So, some smell is good. For those with anxiety over it, just keep in mind that having a smell isn't bad, it's normal. Checking your own smell a lot gives you an idea when there is a change in smell. As the video points out, changes are not always bad, but are data to be observed. It is just another indicator you have for keeping track of your health. I'm not an expert and I don't have a vagina, but I can understand anxiety. So my point is mainly, don't think that having a smell or keeping track of your own scent is abnormal. Now of course, I'm not promoting that we all just go around in public scratching and sniffing, just that we normalize scent tracking as part of healthy living. You shouldn't be embarrassed around a partner.

Actuallyyyy... If you’re not on any hormonal birth control your vaginal discharge also literally tells you where you are in your menstrual cycle (which should be called an ovulation cycle in my opinion, because being on your period isn’t the highlight of the month, right?). When your ovulation is quite far ahead you’re discharge will be dry or there will be almost none at all. The closer you get to your ovulation, the thicker, clumpier and wetter your discharge will be. And finally, on the day of your ovulation your discharge will be extremely clear, stretchy and wet. This is your body’s natural way of telling you that you are fertile in those moments. ! Hormonal birth control (like the pill, IUD, etc.) completely disturbs this natural cycle which makes what I just told you completely useless. I’d just like to give everyone a little more information on how this part of your cycle works exactly 🙃 I’m on the pill myself, has always worked well for me, but I thought this to be a very interesting thing about the female body that no one ever told me.

It doesn't help that songs like WAP help that idea along. Don't feel bad though. For many guys, a woman being wet is a turn on. So, it could be more that he's turned on by it than he actually believes you are. One thing to keep in mind is, that this video is pointing out that many people are ignorant of what discharge is and what it means. The most guys get taught about discharges in vaginas is that when women get aroused, one of the signs is that there will be increased moisture for lubrication. That is taught in sex ed classes. So, most likely, that's what he's been taught. I don't want to say how to overcome the issue, as communication in relationships is a very complicated thing. Simply, in my mind, you definitely shouldn't be feeling bad about his ignorance, as if you've done anything wrong.

Normal discharge is acidic, so that's why it's not uncommon to have panties that bleach over time or get holes in them. Took me so many years to learn that.

Knew about the bleaching. Did NOT know about the holes. That actually explains a lot… (still learning basic things about my body at almost 30. THANKS I HATE THIS.)

Okay, so, I'm curious. They didn't really explain the sticky part, but someone in the comments said something about fertility. What about when they were speaking about the different colors - what does red/pink/brown mean? I'm assuming it's an indication of having started or finished your period, given the context of the video, but I'd rather not assume anything and they listed those colors but said nothing about them.

It would probably be right before or right after someone's period. In my personal experience I have never seen discharge during my period due to the blood.

@@robinnoelle4696 Thank you so much for sharing. I try to be educated on these topics but it can be intimidating to ask because, as a man, I don't want to come off as weird or rude or crass, even. So thank you. It helps to hear these things from actual women and not just random bits of information online where you have no clue where to start sometimes.

It can be awkward in general to talk about stuff relating to bodies and genitals to anyone. It's really awkward for me as a trans guy but, it's nice knowing that there's people to ask about this stuff. If you have more questions I'm sure there is a reddit for women's health and things relating to gynecology. I'm glad there are some cis-men actually bothering to learn about a females genital system. A lot of guys either think women are constantly sexually excited or they think it's gross when in reality, it's just natural. :)

Forgot to add this: since I'm not an expert in gynecology, what I said might not be 100 percent accurate. I'm sure red/brown discharge could mean something else but, if it's around the menstruation period it is likely due to the normal stuff that goes on during that period.

@@robinnoelle4696 Okay, cool. Yeah, I'll definitely look into some of those reddit forums. And congrats on living your truth as a Trans man. Doesn't your period go away at a certain point in your transition?

Right?? Like, every once in awhile I’ll see “spotting” mentioned (for, say, if a woman’s using birthcontrol) but never really WHAT it is. Is it part of a period cycle? Is it a health concern? Is it The Spotting? TELL US. WE LITERALLY DON’T KNOW 😩 -…and our mothers certainly don’t know either. I had discharge that crusted and bleached and apparently made holes basically daily throughout my teens and early 20s. Apparently that’s “normal.” My mom made a snide remark about it being “proof I’m not asexual” when I came out as ace. Then via social media of all things (then NOW with this video) I learn “oh yeah, it just Does That” -ie, Not A Reflection On My Orientation, Ma. (But your education within a fundamentalist-christian school system was even Worse than mine…)”-

I get so much discharge it’s uncomfortable and embarrassing. I always hide my panties from my partner so he doesn’t see it all dried up there and think it’s gross 😮‍💨. Panty liners help but I go through them so quick

Mine was like that last month. Freaked me out. (Pregnancy surprise wasn’t a concern, unless I’m gonna carry the anti-messiah.) Hate to say it but bleeding heavily through several overnight pads in the next cycle was a bit of a relief-it’s at least expected.

Brown discharge after a period is usually old or dried blood that was slow to leave your uterus. Occasionally, brown and bloody discharge could be a sign of a problem when it's accompanied by other symptoms.
