On planning permission, I saw an expert say that developers can make money by getting planning permission but not building houses as the land value goes up. A suggestion was that planning permission should have a time limit on it, seems a sensible idea to me.

Planning permissions do have a time limit on them - it’s 3 years. If a scheme hasn’t been ‘implemented’ by that point, the planning permission expires.

What labour need to know is that house building companies actually own very little land. (Neighbour works for one in the purchasing team.) They seek options to purchase subject to planning permission. Then they do the deal.

Its not really the kings speech is it? It is written for him by parliament. Draft bills are not permanent. Tell the people one thing and do another. Change things to the bill to suit them . Not really addressing the immediate problems in the country though is it?
