We used to have free healthcare, education, electricity, housing, subsidized food and cars, paid living allowance if u study abroad, paid hospital bill if you get treatment outside the country, free water, the Libyan people and Gaddafi built "the great man made water system" I can go on and on,, All 6 million of us ran our country and controlled our destiny and policies. We had the most democratic world system called a "Jamahiriya" or "state of the masses" You can read about it in Gaddafis "Green book." 90% of us supported Gaddafi when terrorists and NATO attacked us and still support him until this very day. They gave weapons, money and support to the terrorists from all over the world who freed all the criminals in jails to destroy our system and loot our country. The West was so much afraid of Gaddafi’s Pan Africanism Agenda, they thought that eliminating him would stop the African Independence movement but surely no one can stop an idea whose time has come... Gaddafi was persuading African nations for a military unification and SOUTHERN ATLANTIC TREATY ORGANIZATION(SATO) instead of NATO and this would guarantee the security of African and Latin American countries against any external aggression from the US and its allies.... This and other moves that he was fueling scared the hell out of the egotistical Americans because they surely knew that they would face a hard time destabilizing any of the SATO member countries. That’s why they engineered a terrible machine in form of protests and eventually evaded... But surely Africa is now realizing all this and the time will come when we have one unified Army, political and economic integration and we shall be great again💪🏽

I was in Tripoli in the mid 1990’s. Strangely, for my understanding, Gaddafi projected himself as the ‘guider’ of the Country rather than being the Dictator. In those days it was safe but lacking entertainment, I found it boring. The wealth of the Country, relatively low population and significant Oil exports, negated opening up for Tourism - ignoring opportunities to develop/promote its Mediterranean coastline and historical sites. Like some other ‘Arabic’ countries, the so called Arab Spring did not evolve to benefit the populace, quite the opposite. I wonder how many Libyan’s wish they could turn the clock back to Gaddafi times.
@chrisl99342 жыл бұрын
The Arab Spring was instigated by CIA operatives. You only need a few instigators among the populace to stir the pot and create dissent which the CIA is very good at. It was done so that regimes can be changed to those more favourable to the West. Libya is now a hellhole thanks to them.

In Kenya Oilibya became a brand you saw everywhere in the country and many Kenyans were employed in Libya as Nurses, doctors, lecturers, etc. It all ended when the wealthy white people governments decided they wanted him out. The governments of western nations commit crimes against humanity, destroy elected governments, provide arms to criminals who call themselves pro-democracy, ruin millions of ordinary peoples lives....But in the end their immense wealth and privilege blinds them, and lies to them that are always right and that they are very good people Better even, they think, than other human beings. I remember the Jamahariyah, the greening of Libya. I worked on a huge new 1,000 Friesian dairy complex in Sebha in the early 1980s and thought a lot of Gaddafi's investment in Libyan agricultural development, in his drive for self-sufficiency, Libya had once, after all, been the granary of Rome. Many ancient Roman villas and farms are still to be found on the Jebel el Ahkdar, the Green Mountain to the east of Benghazi. He enfranchised women, built schools, brought water to waterless places. Many mocked and yes he made mistakes, but he was played like a puppet by the west, cruelly so. They couldn't bear to see an African success, and I'm white, though born in Africa. I thought a lot of him. He was cornered, made a fool of, had his hands tied and when the Americans killed his daughter for no reason, the man lost his mind, I remember. He never recovered.

the Jamahiriya was the only successful African state the Brother-Leader was the only true revolutionary al-Qathafi's third international theory will never die
@fran87blacon8 жыл бұрын
Jamahiriya is something us western country's should take alook at, yes it would have to be changed a little due to having heavy Islamic relevant content but overall they why he thought direct democracy would work was appealing. All so it would have destroy capitalism and stop one man owning billions while the majority struggles to live, I believe in nationalising the country's main recourses so all proceeds go in to the people an country. Gaddafi was a danger to the world because it was showing how better forms of government can achieve more than the so called democracy we live in today
@fran87blacon8 жыл бұрын
+z237Az217 also I see there would be corruption in that system if there wasn't something to stop it, but yes over all the idea sits well and with abit of tinkering it could well be a good form of government. But as for war I am sorry I don't agree, we still just another species with the same basic instinct as there rest of the other species that we share this planet with and some of them basic. Instinct are fighting defending etc. I feel no matter what we will always want to fight for good or bad. I am not someone who like to fight and don't suggest we should but even my self have been in a situation where i have had to an want to fight. We need to stop thinking we know it all an we are this all powerful entity. I heard gaddafis daughter had returned to Libya to help fight with the pro gaddafi groups still around and what has happened saif Islam ? Last I seen he was waiting trail

People from Morocco used to go to libya for work, because they get paid more there and they feel as if they were in their own country. Once the war started they started coming back home. This means that libya was once heaven, now it's hell. So sad

Videos about Gaddafi being deleted over time here on youtube. Please download these videos and keep personal copies of them. We never know when we will need to re-upload these again. Some are already lost. There was another 9 minute video of him going about the streets in his car being praised by the people, I want to see any other governor out there that is able to do the same. There's NONE.

Well I bet Libyans nowadays will prefer to live in the "repressive regime" under Gaddafi than the current "democratic regime" that they are living by. While Gaddafi was NOT a saint but he did provide comfortable and peaceful life for the citizens of Libya.
