Well this is the longest video I have uploaded on the channel so far...let me know what you think? If you enjoyed this extended version you may also enjoy the latest extended video I made on the Bronze Age Minoans kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmfGeaGYjryeZqc Also, I used a couple different microphones in different sized rooms on different days while recording this video(out of necessity)...so this may sound slightly different tones at times.

Bronze is used in a lot of modern machinery etc, when the engineer wants to make sure only one of two contacting parts is being worn away, they make that one from bronze and the other from steel. Bronze is still pretty hard so it resists abrasion pretty well, but when it's worn away you only need to swap out the bronze part.

@@michaelb1761 yes, but even a little bit goes a long way. Assuming the archaeologists of 3000 years in the future are as advanced or more advanced than our own today, then I am sure they will be able to recover quite a lot of information from a random laptop hard-drive that was carelessly thrown in the bin and sent to landfill rather than destroyed or recycled. If it’s buried deep enough it should be reasonably safe from solar flares and EMP events. Moreover, I expect that buried CDs and DVDs will have good prospects of being readable even 3000 years from now.

57:55 The Tigris and Euphrates confluence has two names depending on who you ask: Arabs call it Shatt al-Arab (شط العرب) meaning river of the Arabs. But in Iran, it's called Arvand Rud (اروند رود), the swift river. Or at least Shatt al-Arab is only considered the part of river that is in Iraq. At the Iranian border the river Karun from Zagros mountains joins Shatt al-Arab and forms the Iran-Iraqi border. This part is considered Arvand Rud in Iran.

Hi. As for the state funded tomb raiding theory, it is commonly accepted in the end of East Han dynasty in China, aka the Three Kingdom Period, head of the Wei state Cao Cao (c.155-200) organized the first elite exhumation squad to fund his state as well as its war machine. So yes, such event may as well have had happend in Egypt.

I loved this! I think the longer format is great. You should def do more videos like this. I like the way you weaved between the OG video and new stuff, though I think a long video for itself that does not have to do that would be better. Overall though, you should totally do some more stuff like this.

Hello, Epimetheus. This is my first viewing of your works. How did I like it ?? I loved it. Grew up in mid 1900s in fundamental Biblical Tennessee. Very limited & distorted perception of history of period producing the Old & New Testaments. It’s great to get more objective historic context of these ages. I will begin watching your additional videos. I’ve forwarded the link to this episode to ~100 people.

I like them both [actually went out of my way to watch the shorter version after I came across this version]. Each serves its own purpose. So if you want to do another of these expanded versions, I think you would find an audience for it. I personally enjoyed the extra information / detail that you provided, as well as the slightly less formal style of the commentary in the additions.

hi, this is the first video of yours i have seen. loved it, totally worth having all the extra detail - i think the shorter version would have left many questions - while not all could ever be answered, this does go seem to tell us as much as we know at this time. thank you for putting it together.

That was awesome!! Thank you for the larger video and all the comments! They surely work! I like both versions! The short one is more palatable and easier to follow. Maybe it's a matter of training the narration, but I think onde version complement the other and would like both about civilisatory topics!

Loved the longer video, I really enjoyed your personal opinions and theories seeing as you are so knowledgeable on the subject and state your reasoning well. I like the more casual elements such as about pronunciation and dates, was great to see more of your personality shine into your videos. I would say overall you’re shorter videos are great for the bite size knowledge to see if I’m interested in a subject and then these longer deep-dives are fantastic when I know I like them! So I would say keep both formats, continue with the shorter videos but sprinkle in videos like this on your popular topics :)
