Today we refer to Viking Age Scandinavians broadly as the Vikings as if they were one people. The fact is that the historical group known as the Vikings were in many ways very different.
Let's take a closer look at the differences between the three.

Why do we have so little documentation on the Swedish Viking Era, is because in the 13th century the Kings Library burnet down in Stockholm. Therefore we can lean upon the Islandic Sagas by Snorre Sturlasson & Heimskringa, including including the Ynglingatal, about the Swedish & Danish Early Kings. The Danish Kings library had the same misfortune as the Swedish but they also had a Historian called Saxxo Gramaticus that they have found some of his books. But evenj so, the Danes have to lean on the Islandic Sagas. I am not sure about the the Norwegians but do think that most of their documented history from the Viking Era comes from the Islandic Sagas.

yes that might be part of it but it is also due to the Sovietunion being closed of to the west when a lot of history was discovered, and for a period there were an ideology in the Soviet and former Soviet that was against the idea of a Scandinavian past, today however it is generally not only accepted but thought and there have been historians in Russia and Ukraine digging uo graves and taking dna samples so much have been learned the past couple of years

Small correction: Russia took their name from the Rus', though their country is actually descended from Muscovite robber barons who were clients of the Mongols. Ukraine and Belarus are the actual descendants of Rus' and the Swedish traders. Wonderfully done production!

Also, most jewelry, amulets, rings, etc were made in Sweden during the vikings age. Played a big role in the metalworking industry, making lots of amulets with Mjölnir, Gungnir, the Troll Cross etc to gain Protection, Strength and Luck to name a few.

Ragnar is claimed by all, some historians believe he is actually three different people, he is a legendary Viking king, and with Denmark in many ways considered the unifier for better or worse, he would in most sagas, regardless of origin be considered a Great Dane, pun intended.

The reason why Harald converted to christianity, was not because they believed in any fiction, but because trade men from germany would only do bussiness with christian people. So offcourse we became a christian nation. It is the way we always have doing religion, as a trade..

I have the same idea, but really don't know. I just know that us Danes have many scattered lands and have to sail between them. So we are used to the seas. Plus we very well organised. And at that times, many other people just lived in tribes. More or less civilized. Guess we then fought those who were wild. When in other cases traded with them.

The Swedish viking went down trade paths to Konstantinopel. I think they have a huge impact on modern history. From Estonia (and the other countries where) to now a day Russia to Ukraine. On the other hand Norwegian Viking probably discovered Iceland and Greenland and attacked the nothern parts of Great Brittain. Norway were not suitable for people to live in so it is hard to see Norway contribuate anything to the Viking story except Hardrada. The Danish Vikings focused on England and below meaning France, Nothern Africa and Italy. But it was England they wanted. England got a short line of Viking Kings in that period. To cut it short Denmark and Sweden had the most influence during the Viking age. I think the Swedish Vikings had the most influence since the numerous countries they put an mark on. From Sweden to Kiyv. Danish Vikings focused on England. Norwegian Vikings except Hardrada are not worthy to be compared to Vikings

well that depends on what the word means, certainly "anyone" didn't found Russia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, ruled parts of England, Normandy and settled in Greenland, Ireland and Scotland, married into Noble families all over Europe, build the most amazing ships ect. what you may have heard is the word Winking meant pirate, that was however in another time and place, later the word Winking meant warrior, it may or may not have anything to do with the Norse word "Vikingr" or "Vinkingar" , a similar word can mean something completely diff. in another language or the meaning can change over time, the word Glass means ice cream in Swedish, some historians believe Vikingr came from the Norse/Scandinavian word "Vik" meaning Bay, the Vikings settled in Bay areas, everybody know when we talk about Vikings it is Scandinavians during what is known as the Viking age, there are no other people on earth that are known as Vikings, so lets not pretend to be stupid

Norwegian vikings was a way more unthamed and unsettled people, leading to why they were more cruel, ruthless and bat shit crazy. Before the Viking age, Sweden was the most powerfull country by far, Denmark rose to the top during the viking ages, however Norwegians had bigger problems unifying there one country (due to as u mentioned well in the video, geography.) As a Norwegian from Rogaland, i’ve always found it cool that my people were known as the bravest and toughest out of the bunch, even tho we werent as powerfull as Denmark, or political traders as Sweden, nobody wanted to meet the Norwegians in battle ESPESCIALLY at sea
