What didn't happen at my school...? Two teachers assaulted a total of 6~9 14-16 yr old girls. A pastor who frequented our high school was found to have repeatedly assaulted an at the time 15 boy for 4 years. A kid died in the pool from an unknown heart condition. A boy fingered his girl friend during an assembly (and everyone could smell it.) Some girls stuffed towels and dried corn in a 3rd floor toilet that it flooded the second floor computer lab and server center. The gym roof collapsed under the weight of snow and ice over New Years break. All but 2 Asian girls were married with children by the time we graduated and one of those 2 was publicly disowned by her parents for refusing to marry the 28 yr old they'd chosen our junior year.

I fainted during choir class in 5th grade and face planted off the third riser. For a very brief time I was a little famous, though never popular. Then I got upstaged by a girl who broke her neck on the swings next year. Thankfully she survived, but I don’t remember her actually coming back to school. In 7th grade there was a bit of a commotion when it came out that a student was having suicidal thoughts. Almost the whole grade supported him and gave him encouragement, even people who hadn’t been particularly pleasant towards him in the past, and filled his locker with kind notes. It was me and it majorly turned my life around. When it happened, everyone wanted to make sure I was okay so they started paying a bit more attention to me and spending more time with me, and as a side effect they all realized I wasn’t quite as weird as I seemed. I started to feel like I had friends and the suicidal thoughts very quickly went away, and I haven’t struggled with depression again since. Turns out, just about all the kids in my grade level, even the ones I thought were mean because they used to make fun of me, were good people and very supportive. I ended middle school on good terms with everyone.

During class, the whole school was called to the gym for an emergency assembly. Half of the students were told not to bring their things, as the teachers thought it would be quick and classes would resume shortly. We were informed of a "suspicious package" that had been left on the road outside, and that the bomb squad had been called, but they would take a few hours to arrive because they were in a different city at the time. We were told that there would be no going back to the main part of the school, and that we were all to leave immediately. We all start frantically looking for siblings and piling into whoever's car that lives nearby, because half of us don't have our keys. I personally was piled into a neighbor's minivan with about 9 other kids. We get back to school and word starts going around about the actual contents of the package... meat. We were all sent home in a panic because some dude thought it would be cool to throw a box of old rotten meat out into the middle of the street instead of into the trash.
@workingguy-OU8122 жыл бұрын
It was approaching 'common' to where someone would call in a bomb threat to a specific building (various buildings) on the college campus. I put two and two together, and realized that in a very competitive school, kids who aren't ready for test days will call in a bomb threat to cancel classes in whatever building they had the test. One of the last times, for me, they told us we could leave the building or stay. Out of about 100 students, I was the only male who chose to stay. Around me, encircling me, were the nine females who sat around me who stuck with me (I guess feeling safe with me there? It was an interesting observation at the time). The professor then carried on her 1-hour lesson for the day with only we ten out of her 100 (very possibly more, it was a huge regular classroom) students.

Italian guy here. On my third high school year someone managed to lockpick the chain that secured the principal's motorbike, carried the bike to the last floor, and dropped it into the courtyard (5 stories drop). At the beginning of my fourth year, a huge hornet hive was found in the men's bathroom of the top floor, city autorities were called but nobody was sent for at least three months. All we could do was close that bathroom and put a sign on the door. Eventually, a guy in my class got stung and found out he was allergic, anaphylactic shock (he didn't suffer long-term consequences, but that was real scary nonetheless). Obviously, the very next day the city sent people to eradicate the hive. I don't remember when it happened, but one winter there was a lot of snow and people were having snowball fights in the courtyard; some a**hole hid rocks into his snowballs and started throwing those. Broke a girl's nose and hurt at least two other people.

1. There was a double stabbing at one of the highschools i went to, while i was attending there (i went to 4 different highschools. This was the 3rd one that I attended, on my birthday, on my first day there). I had only been attending for 1wk at that point. The actual stabbing was outside, but one of the kids was a student at the actual school. Whole school went into lockdown, they sent in a SWAT team. Surrounded the school while armed SWAT went down the halls and searched every single room. This was on my bday. I got home 2hrs later than usual. My mother was terrified because the parents weren't even notified. The crazy thing is that one of the guys that was stabbed ended up walking about an hour south til he reached a veterinary clinic he had an interview at for a co-op placement. He completed his interview, then asked for them to call him an ambulance and revealed that he had been stabbed. My bestie and i were actually interviewed and on the news that day. I still have the footage. It was a crazy day. There were many other bad, big incidents at that school, but this was def the biggest one. 2. There was a murder while i was attending the 1st highschool i went to. The girl was in gr. 9 (this was when i was already in gr. 11). It was the first homicide of the year (New Years had just passed not too long ago). We'll call the victim Emily. Emily was friends with this guy that had a particularly insecure girlfriend (we'll call the psycho Jennifer). Jennifer would frequently threaten any female that talked to her boyfriend (we'll call him Mike). Jennifer ended up convincing Mike that in order to prove to her that he loved her and was not cheating on her, he should kill Emily. Mike ended up phoning Emily and luring her outside. He then proceeded to stab her to death. She died in a snowbank across the street from her house. Her father was a cop. Jennifer had also been threatening one of my besties at the time, so in retrospect I'm so thankful that my bestie did not get hurt. Her threats really could have actually become reality for my friend, too. The school was in such a sad, depressed state for months after that. They offered counselling sessions at any time anyone needed, and you would be allowed to leave the class to go attend a session. They painted a mural of Emily on one of the walls in the school that was beautifully done.

This girl actually didn't even know until she started to recieve death threats from other students. The girl doing it, she kept going knowing her friend was being threatened, and harrassed. At some point cops finally figured out who was doing it. She was arrested. Her passport taken, and she has to sever several years of community service. I had graduated already at this time, but it was all over town. Here is the story how I heard it: So my school was a dump. Originally built in the 30s for 60 students, it had been built onto over the years almost haphazardly to house 1500 students - we had 1800 students. To give you an idea of how much this place was falling apart, there were places we were scared to walk because the ceiling tiles were rotting and would sometimes fall on you. Everyone knew this place needed to be rebuilt, but despite multiple requests over the years, we were denied due to lack of funds. This is where it gets interesting: supposedly, district officials had been taking annual trips to tour schools overseas, despite supposed lack of funds. My principal, not happy with this, confronted said officials aboutbwhat was going on. She lost her job. The good news is, whether that is the whole story or not, we did end up getting our school rebuilt.

I swear I went to five different schools in my lifetime and every single one of them must be the most boring school in the state. My mother, however, was a K-1teacher for years, as well as an assistant school librarian and taught the Special Ed class. My mom passed away a few years ago, and to this day I can still remember the names of some of her "Problem Children". She and this other teacher both hated one kid so much they'd call each other to gossip about him (they both had him for different subjects) and the kid was so out of control that Teacher Mom's fairly skilled portrait artist daughter (me) made her a full on Old West "Wanted" Poster for this kid, I aged the paper and everything, and gave it to her for Mother's day. She made a copy for her buddy and I proudly watched my mom get up, hug me, give me a huge kiss and laughed till she cried. That thing hung in our hallway for years. He'd be in his late 30s by now.

I have 3 stories for all of you. First, last month, my High school had 9 different fights on one Tuesday. It was crazy, I think all the fights, except one, were the freshman. Within that same day, multiple *school name* fight pages were created on Instagram. Somehow, even the Jr. High had its own fight page because they had like two fights that day. The school made a phone call to literally everyone’s parents saying about what happened and if their child posted anything on social media there will be consequences and the police might get involved. Then, literally that following Friday, there was an announcement made over the speaker during second period. Apparently a lot of freshmen were posting pictures of a girls on Instagram and rateing them on a scale of 1 - 10. Which, might I say, is f$cked up. Yet it wasn’t the worst, because we also learned that a senior (18 years old) created a TikTok page saying what girls were ugly and what girls he would f$ck (all minors). So the police were actually getting involved now and that guy is probably going to be arrested. (Because of both of these incidents, a petition was made up so they could have an assembly with the freshman to talk about their behavior since they were ruining the school’s name) Finally , last year before the pandemic hit, some horny teenagers had a Devil’s Threesome (2 guys and 1 girl) in the band room during an operating school day. Apparently since the walls of the band room were like made out of those open and closed walls you can install, there was just enough space between the walls for a 4th person to secretly record them behind the wall. That person soon posted their “sex tape” on Snapchat and within 2 days everyone knew about it, including the teachers. I don’t know if they ever got in trouble though. ..........Which one is your favorite crazy story?

Not high school, but Elementary/Intermediate. Two separate incidents. In Elementary, a couple of kids tried to burn the school down over the summer. Did a significant amount of damage and for the next couple of years, classes were held in trailers while it was all repaired. In intermediate school, some kid crawled into the ventilation ducts and crawled around... up until they collapsed under his weight.

My highschool had a black history assembly that got out of hand and wasn't done well because the students were running it without supervision. Then during the assembly one kid yelled "black lives don't matter they splatter." Then all hell broke loose. That night there were a bunch of school shooting threats and other forms of threats and only 40% or less of students came in the next day Edit: That was just the most memorable one, there were more crazy incidents though.

Worst thing I can remember is that a kid managed to slice off his fingertip with an X-acto knife in class. The following year another student gave blood during a Red Cross drive, ignored instructions to eat something afterwards, and blacked out in the middle of class. Ambulances had to be summoned both times.

Not me, but someone I knew whose younger sister was killed 5 days before her birthday. I graduated in 2012, so this incident took place in May 2015. A girl I barely knew (she was a freshman during 2011/2012 while I was a senior) was playing around at the train tracks with a couple of friends when they suddenly saw a train coming by... let's call this girl "Kristi". Unfortunately, Kristi got her foot trapped and she didn't get out in time. They actually mentioned it in the news. A lot of people said she was a sweet person who would never hurt anyone. Yeah, you could say, "play stupid games, win stupid prizes", but I don't want to be harsh on Kristi. She didn't deserve to die at such a young age (she was around 17 that time). Again, I don't know her too well, but I knew her older sister, Michaela, who also graduated in 2012 like me, as well as her mother, who tutored me several times regarding math and English during high school, if I recall correctly.

This happened when I was in 8th grade in middle school, and I learned about it when I went to High School A the next year. So a kid in High School A committed suicide. This was really shocking as he was super popular. Either he had a terrible home life, or it was caused mostly by brain chemistry than circumstances. Anyway some kids in High School B were making fun of the kid who committed suicide. Now this kid even had friends in HSB, and they tried reporting the bullies to the staff. However, the staff didn't do anything because anti-bully rules only apply when harassing someone directly. Saying something cruel and/or bigoted among your friends won't count, no matter who has to overhear it. Especially if the target can't. So the friends of the kid who committed suicide lured the bullies into the bathroom and beat them up. It was at least bad enough to leave bruises, but sources differ on if they had to go to the hospital. Unlike other fights, it was very he said/she said on who specifically was even present among the attacks or who threw the first punch because there was no audience. The school has zero tolerance, but punishes the defender less. I don't know how the discipline eventually turned out, but all the bathrooms in the middle and high schools were locked except for one pair per school, violating California building code.

I am hesitant to share this story because I want to be respectful to the family that was involved. I was a senior, my sister was a freshman. There was a student who sat near her due to similar surnames, and this person lived in our neighborhood. This took place in a small southern town, so everyone basically knew something about everyone else. This one student, though (trying very hard to keep it anonymous) was extremely quiet, never joined sports or social gatherings. One day the student pulls up in a brand new Lexus. Next day, the same, although they were known to walk to school. He / she was also a freshman, and not yet old enough to drive. My sister said that the classmates were all impressed until the local cops swooped in, without a word, and took the student away in a marked car. As it turns out this student had one parent who worked out of town (not unusual in a small southern town where career prospects are limited) and an older sibling away at university. This student was basically living alone during the week with the at-home parent. On this day I am referring to, the students older sibling came home from uni and received a horrific shock. The at home parent was shot in the head, laying in bed, and the student drove the car. The victim had been deceased for several days. The student was found guilty, age 14 or 15, and placed in juvenile until old enough for prison. My sister was very freaked out that this person was so freely driving the car of their murdered parent and coming to class as usual. I've always felt really terrible for that family. They had a nice home, nice cars, successful jobs, and nobody ever revealed the motive behind the violence.

When some construction work was done at my old school, some students broke into the excavator, drove it through the front door and also clogged all the toilets on their way out. My school had a very bad reputation back then, but due to many changes, including a new headmaster/Direktor, it has greatly improved since back then.

My senior year of high school, my junior year homeroom teacher got busted taking inappropriate pictures of a boy (who didn't go to my school). I had so many feelings about this. He was the first openly gay teacher in our school, and he helped me feel more comfortable with myself (I had just come out the year before), as well as just generally being a comforting adult presence at a time when I got bullied a lot. The media turned the school into a circus for a couple of days. Thankfully my fellow seniors kept it together and showed a lot of maturity when presented with questions about what had happened.

Damn something really similar happened with someone getting stabbed at a school in my area. A guy had pretty bad mental issues and was angry about his ex(or just his crush, I don't remember the exact details) getting a new boyfriend so he stabbed her and another student who tried to stop him.

I was in a mental ward once and the hospital decided to test the staff members on what they'd do if a VERY violent patient were to explode in the common area and go nuts. They had a security guard go to my ward and pretend to get upset. He started off talking to the patients, mingling with the staff, and then suddenly got "upset" about something, threw a chair against a nearby table, and started shouting nonsense. The staff responded by tackling him to the ground and holding him there while trying to get us to go to our rooms. SO MANY of us stood there frozen in fear because NO ONE TOLD THE WARD THERE'D BE A TEST OF ANY KIND!!!! A lot of us were scared and confused and some male patients almost joined in on the drop pile because HE DIDN'T STOP ACTING for several minutes!

"What do we do now?" A different teacher appeared who didn't know what to do We went back to our tasks I wonder if the teacher had already been through annoying classes and decided this was the last one or was our class just that annoying? I wonder if the teacher that quite spoke to the teacher that appeared?

My college brought in a hypnotist as a treat for incoming freshmen. When I saw his act, he ended up making a serious mistake that forced him to change his routine. He asked one of the guys he hypnotized who his favorite celebrity is. They guy said someone likes Britney Spears. He brought a burly custodian out from around the corner saying, “guess what? She’s here to see you!” The guy was elated and the hypnotist had “Britney” sign the back of his shirt. While the shirt was being signed, the hypnotist turned away to talk to us until a girl up front loudly yelled _“oh, nonononono.”_ We all looked back at the guy and he was slowly reaching his hand into the front of his pants with a grin on his face. The hypnotist did not repeat this part again for _some_ reason

During my last year at school there was a a school trip to go to a theme park. Almost everyone except for myself in year 12/13 went. I’m not a big lover of thrill rides. At the end of the day my classmates returned bringing with them left over fast food. They were kind enough to share with the teachers I declined because my mum always had dinner on the table when I got home. Fast forward to the next day, I’m the only student in my year at school my teacher explained that so many people had food poisoning and to make it worse so did a lot of the staff. Tldr Classmates went on a trip and brought back food only to poison the school.

I graduated from Bangor High School in 2000. When I was going there they would have a special work shop for Junior's every year. The best best part was when the guest speaker would show up and it was always the same person, Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen. He is from Bangor Maine and graduated from BHS. He would spend a few hours with us and a lot of questions for us. We'll, during my senior year on the day that he shows up someone decides to call in a bomb threat. They found out who it was pretty quick. I couldn't believe someone thought it was a good idea to call in a bomb threat at all but especially when the Secretary of Defense was there.

Freshman year:One of the gym teachers in my high school was murdered by her own husband and that same night he committed suicide. The mother’s son was in my class and I felt so bad for him. Sophomore year: a freshman committed suicide due to bullying. Don’t know the guy but still wish it didn’t happen. Junior Year: the school went on a lock down cause a fugitive was hiding near the school; police helped escort us out of school early. The next day he stole someone’s car. Senior year: I was with the school choir on a trip to New York. One of the planes got canceled and half of us got stranded in New York. Luckily the principal was there to sort everything out. Not as bad as the other incidents ; if anything it made the trip better cause we went to the 9/11 museum and saw endgame.

Freshman Year: A riot broke out during a talent show and basically the 10-12th graders pretty much jumped the freshmen. One kid even had a seizure after somebody threw a freaking chair at her head. To this day, everyone refers to that day as "Freshman Friday." Another thing that happened during freshmen year was that the English teacher choked out a student for walking up on her from behind. She always warned us not to do that because she was from the Bronx (this was in Detroit, MI) so yeah, PTSD likely kicked in that day and she went from a sweet older lady to a certified gangsta real quick! Sophomore Year: A teacher blows up and slaps a student after simply asking him a question. He literally THROWS THE KID OUT OF THE CLASSROOM like Jazzy from Fresh Prince, throws chairs, and has a full meltdown etc. The students threaten to call "Mr. C" (the school disciplinary and a really big, scary looking guy). The teacher shouts "FUCK "MR. C I QUIT!" and storms outta the building never to be seen again. Junior Year: New school, and this happened right before I got there. Apparently, there was a teacher that got newly hired and didn't even last three days. Turns out the school might have accidentally hired a pedophile oops.

Not much of an incident, but since I caused it, it holds a special place in my memories. In my high school, we had a programming class so I would have a period in the computer lab. The night before this took place, my brother showed me how to use a command called "netsend" which allows you to send a message to another user on the network via an alert popup on Windows. Our technology teacher didn't disable this command, so I started sending messages to a classmate. After a few, I showed him what I was doing, then he started doing it and next thing I know, the whole room is sending messages to each other. What made this an incident was someone figured out the wildcard (*) worked for the user to receive the message, so our messages spread to all the computers on the network at school. Thankfully, no one got in serious trouble and my teacher disabled the command the next day.

Teacher beat a kid. I go to a charter school so it goes from 7th-12th grade. My first year there (7th grade) there was an 8th grade boy who would constantly tease and pick on the gym teacher. One day, during first period, the kid was teasing the teacher and he LOST IT. He grabbed the kid by the shoulders, slammed him against the wall a few times, threw his head into the floor and continued to slam his shoulders on the tile until the other students got him off of the kid. He was fired on the spot. The whole incident was caught on security cameras and broadcasted on local news for the next week. He was charged with a misdemeanor for child abuse. As for the kid, his parents decided not to do anything about it. The only reason the teacher got charges was because he was a minor and it was on school grounds. His parents said he had been warned to stop abusing the teacher on multiple occasions and he didnt. Lots of kids transferred schools because of this but he didn't. He still sits in the back of my World Civ. class and smokes weed in the bathroom.

I’ve commented on another version of this Reddit post but we had two major ones I remember: 1. Half the junior class, some of the sophomores, and four seniors were involved in their own underground drug ring at school. We were a really small school (less than 150 students) and so pretty much half of our student body got expelled. It was so big, that we had police investigate the school for a week, bringing in drug dogs, asking students questions, and walking around campus. This was very strange because we had never experienced a drug test at school before; it hadn’t been needed before. 2. During an Alumni event, two graduating classes from the 70s competed against each other in a basketball game during Alumni week. The guy that use to be the star player back in the day dropped dead on the court from heart failure in front of - not just the entire faculty, students, and visiting alumni - but his wife and kids, too. Stuck with us all for the rest of the year.

He was bullied relentlessly and kids would make fun of him forcibly touch his chest. Regardless, they told everyone and the girl he liked and I could see he was devastated. The same kids followed him to high school and if a girl liked him they told her about his deformity. He eventually got diagnosed with severe social anxiety because he was walking on "eggshells" every day he went to school.
